    I assume 12 Angry Men doesn't count.

12 Angry Men only has something like 5 minutes in the courtroom, the rest in that jury room. Both versions of that movie are very well done.

A Time to Kill? It’s the first time Matthew McCon..allamadingdong actually acted in any of his films. And a solid display of overt racism in court proceedings, which had been largely avoided around the time it was released.

Inherit the Wind is criminally forgotten these days (we watched it in 7th grade science!) and I love The Verdict!

I'm pretty sure he meant that for courtroom film. I completely forgot about it, especially Marisa Tomei's performance.

Okay, so a Mount Rushmore of Courtroom films:
Anatomy of a Murder, A Few Good Men, My Cousin Vinny, and ???.

As for another our generation Song of the South... True Romance? Or will lines like "******* white uniforms," or "Sicilians were spawned by *******," just be ignored letting the rest of the film stand on its own where Song of the South was quietly put to death because of its entirety?

So A Few Good Men was on tonight. Missed the opening, but caught it about a half hour in.

Yes, it was edited for basic cable, but seeing as its my Roadhouse, i still know most the lines by heart.

Jack Nicholson argued the masculinity (or lack there of) of Tom Cruise's crisp white uniform.

Despite being edited, I had a sudden realization that films with language spoken freely like that will become our generations Song of the South.

It's still the second best courtroom drama on film, only just short of Anatomy of a Murder. But that's my opinion only.

Though TBH that video is hilarious in how it notes SS stole it shot for shot.

But, as you say, it doesn't matter because it is a perfect first scene. Best first scene in any action movie? Once Upon a Time in the West is the one challenger that jumped to mind, but that's wistful, like Casino Royale. I can't think of a better action opening. I remember thinking when I saw The Spy Who Loved Me that I was seeing something special.

But worse than that, it's wrong. Magnificent Seven is incomparably better than Seven Samurai, which I have never managed to stay awake through. The better example is Yojimbo / A Fistful of Dollars as they're the same level of awesome.

BUT I AM NOT MAKING THAT ARGUMENT HERE. I was congratulating you for accurately predicting that somebody really did make that argument about Raiders. I was making peace, you boob.

To be fair, yes, that is a good line. I like the Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS character, too.

Ok, maybe it's not so bad.
