I like any performance in which any actor is good. I am still waiting for this with Tom Hanks.

To be fair, his Jimmy Dugan was fine, I exaggerate for effect. He voices a great Woody. That is truly the role he was born to play. He was okay in That Thing You Do, too, and that was just enough of him.

I would not object to a 3 minute cameo by Tom Hanks in every movie, provided he could not appear on screen for a second longer.

Good to know. I liked the original Swedish movie and the book.

I want to see The Whale...just likely will wait til it is on streaming.

Honestly I felt the same way about Otto, but I am glad I saw it. I didn't get as emotional as she did but it was interesting seeing Mr. Rogers play a grumpy old man who thinks everyone are idiots!

This is, sadly, true. But he was good in Volunteers, which is the same vintage.

I was the perfect age. It is good stupid fun.

Edit: oh god, no I wasn't. I was 22. That movie is really more like me at 15. Well, it doesn't matter, I thought it was wonderfully stupidly funny.

                • I watched The Banshee: Ed Sheeran on HBO. Excellent movie, but very confusing. Not a single Ed Sheeran song in the lot.

I second this. It's a fun romp. (Watching on HBO)

                      • mookie caught glass onion two nights ago. ahright.

mookie also saw that vision quest is on youtube so watching that for the first time in 30some odd years. always knew it had a great soundtrack (yes, even with madonna). mookie considers this a classic and quite surprised that it took so long to see again (considering mookie has watched road house 4,768,431 times and hangover 2 slightly less in the gap between vision quest viewings :-) )

                        • mookie's Road House addiction made me think: which movies have I watched the most times in my life?

                          My guess:

                          1. The Thing (John Carpenter version)
                          2. Uh, probably Roadhouse, to be honest
                          3. Gunfight at OK Corral
                          4. Guys and Dolls
                          5. Nosferatu (Murnau version)

                          • Hmm. If I had to guess in no particular order:

Jaws, Meet Me In St. Louis (every year since i can remember), Fletch, Shawshank Redemption, and despite it's length possibly Lawrence of Arabia.

                            • Agree. Maybe a couple of them on Scorsese flicks.
