Has anyone else noticed more junk threads popping up? Not sure if that's a result of whatever quick upgrade they did on Saturday.

Originally posted by Ed Trefzger View PostIt wasn't fun. We had two servers with multiple virtual machines. One server with several virtual machines had its drives and motherboard fried. We had been planning to move to a completely cloud-based set up instead of our own hardware this summer. Fortunately we had a current database for the Fan Forum. We also had to restore our server with stats and the app server as well as the bracket challenge.
So we've migrated the Fan Forum to a new cloud server for now and hope to move from vBulletin to Xenforo in the offseason for much better performance. We were trying to do it now but it was too much to do all at once, so we decided to just get this back up and running.
Question - is there no way to report a post? Sure, spam is annoying but can be ignored. I'm more concerned with trolls coming in here and posting ... less good stuff.I gotta little bit of smoke and a whole lotta wine...

The default is for MySQL 8 to create logs that chew up a bunch of hard drive space and we had to catch that and turn it off."The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. even among normal desktop applications, logging seems to be out of control. Teams and Skype ate about 10 GB of logs before I realized what was going on and disabled them. It what universe do I need 10 gigs of logs for anything outside of the LHC?If you don't change the world today, how can it be any better tomorrow?

On a related note, we've been rewatching ST Voyager recently. It occurred to me that if the LHC can generate 1 PB/s of data, even going beyond the limitations of the Heisenberg UP, the amount of data you'd generate trying to detect, store, and transport a person's worth of molecules is absolutely breathtaking. And absolutely hilarious.Code:As of 9/21/10: As of 9/13/10: College Hockey 6 College Football 0 BTHC 4 WCHA FC: 1
