    • Officiating crew in the Vikings-Lions game is trying their best to ensure Minnesota wins this one. Two absolutely horse**** calls against Detroit lead to a Vikings' touchdown going on the board, and a Lions' touchdown coming off the board. Vikings lead by 8, but Lions should be up by 6.

For the Lions, the failure is the ownership. They say they care about the fans, but as long as the franchise value continues to go up, they don't actually care.
You can argue that, for sure. But Brady only covers one side of the game. The game plans he's come up with to cover some amazing offenses has been pretty spectacular. NE has not really been the dominant team for a long time, even though they have won SB, for sure not the most talented.

I agree that the Lions true failure is ownership. A very apathetic ownership, the opposite problem that Washington, SF, and Dallas have. But there can be success with the right GM/Coach combination. Which is something they have done really badly forever.

One could argue that the main player(s) there were more the OL and less the QB/RB.

And that would be a fair argument, although even then there were still some changes along the OL between '82 and '91. By my count, 6 players were on both the '82 and '91 teams: Art Monk, Don Warren, Jeff Bostic, Joe Jacoby, Russ Grimm, and Monte Coleman.

You could also argue that Washington's run from 1982-1991 was not a "dynasty." I think it should count (4 Super Bowl appearances and 3 Super Bowl wins in the span of a decade), but they never won consecutive titles, and two of the three titles were in strike seasons.

              • The Giants got possession on a fumble by attempting to shove a football in their anus.

Just another Sunday for Lions fans. This is the second time this season the Lions were flagged for tackling the QB.

That call was...something else. The announcers were trying to think of possible reasons why it could be roughing the QB, and each one was obviously not the case. It was a pure and clean tackle, and I would use it to teach my defensive players how to tackle the QB to avoid a penalty. The ref/official that threw the flag should be fined for that call. It was horrendous.

                        Toe Blake's Canadiens.

                        Cups in 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 65, 66, 68.

In the 50's cluster the main players were Beliveau, Maurice Richard, Olmstead, Geoffrion, Moore, Harvey, Johnson, Boucard, with Plante in net (all in the Hall of Fame).

In the 60's cluster the main players were Beliveau (still), Cournoyer, Duff, Lemaire, Henri Richard, Laperriere, Savard, with Worsley in net (all in the Hall of Fame).

So, Toe Blake is Belichick and Jean Beliveau is Brady.

                            • This has been a bad game, and I say that as a WFT fan. All for the honor of losing by 30 to TB. Of course it ends on a non-football play.

                              • Bah. I'd have enjoyed the G'ints making it.

                                1-Kansas City (bye)
                                7-Indianapolis @ 2-Buffalo, go Bills
                                6-Cleveland @ 3-Pittsburgh, go Browns (fun matchup)
                                5-Baltimore @ 4-Tennessee, battle of fake teams

                                1-Green Bay (bye)
                                7-Chicago @ 2-New Orleans, zzz go Bears I guess
6-L.A. Rams @ 3-Seattle, from just missing the bye to this?
                                5-Tampa Bay @ 4-Racists, go Racists

The Jets and Jacksonville were a combined 3-29. All 3 wins were against playoffs teams (Rams, Browns, and Colts).

Please baby Jesus, give me conference finals of Cleveland @ Buffalo and Seattle @ Green Bay.
