I think he would've run if Beau hadn't croaked.

Of course, but the point dumpers are trying to score is that any dirt they can dig up on Hunter will verify the dumb-azz conspiracy stories and validate those spinning them. It's shameful, but they know exactly what they are doing. Just as they have for the last 30 years.

It tells you something though that they aren't trying for Biden himself. Since they can spew literally anything and their morons will buy it they should just flat out claim he's a rapist and a communist. That is the Grand Old Party's speed.

That would all be good if Chump's nutter base was enough to win him the election this time around, but most likely its not. This one is getting into the realm of "Bill Clinton visited the Soviet Union in college so he must be a double agent" or "Barack Obama was born in Kenya" type stupidity that only looks laughable and pathetic to the majority of voters. I understand some people on the left find comfort in the notion that Republicans find a way to win every election every time. I would suggest though that you talk to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for a second opinion after the GOP's smashing victory in the 2018 elections....

I agree. The base is not enough.

Base plus cheating will be enough, because cheating alone will be enough, unless we stop them.

Could very well be. Hard to say how many of the no-show Biden votes might be the result of cheating rather than indifference or just plain fatigue. There is probably pretty reliable information out there on that question. God knows the suppression will be there.

I think some of our lefty friends fear the world too much. Suppression will be there as you say, but it only works in places where the GOP has total control of all levers of govt. Think GA, FL and OH. Of course I'd love to see Biden win in these places, but he doesn't need them. He needs PA, MI, WI, and/or NC, all of which Dems control Gov, AG, and Secretary of State and the state supreme court in PA and NC. Even MI while nominally under GOP control has a Republican justice who keeps siding with voting rights advocates. It's no longer the landscape leading up to the 2016 elections.

Once the Republicans can tweak the numbers by 1 they can tweak them by millions. They have no scruples and no allegiance and they are doing everything they can to rig the courts to approve whatever they do.

This is the inflection point for American democracy. If we win, even if they simply declare themselves the victors afterwards as Dump will, we can, if we have the will, claw back democracy, although it will be a terrible struggle against a committed enemy. That is a fight worth having.

Still, if we lose legitimately, for the first time ever Dr. Mrs. and I and our daughter will begin the PITA process of moving on. My family came here only 140 years ago from unacceptable places to live. Oceans rise, empires fall. I certainly never planned to be an emigrant, but while we cannot control world historical events, we can control our response to them.

Funny as you’ve said others should stay and fight when we’ve mentioned leaving.

Have you really been pushed that far recently?

My point is if he wins legitimately. If the country decides this is what they want.

I felt what you are saying as I was typing but I also felt the way I felt. I can tell you that yes something's changed. I may be getting old, or I may have spent so much time with Dr. Mrs. the last month I realize the private's primacy over the public. Or I may be gradually concluding that history is not actually made by people but by inexorable trends so the best we can do is crawl to where the scorpions aren't infested. (Or I may be psychologically trying to get out of moving to Phoenix given that last sentence, yikes.)

The happier I am the less I am willing to stand in front of the tank. And the last month I have been very, very happy. And I'm nearing 60, and every year the rest of you seem a little more ghost-like and unimportant.

So yeah, I think something is changing.

But if they steal it then f-ck no, I'm staying and killing Nazis. Because by the same token, I'm almost 60, and nothing I do from here on will compare with the thrill and satisfaction of killing Nazis.

He's not going to win legitimately. His only path to victory is voter suppression, or Biden literally keeling over during the campaign (which is why it's critical he picks the right running mate).

He could. The country is 60/40 but a lot of us don't vote.

I would put the odds at:

30% we win so big there's no debate (Dump screams everybody yawns)
30% we win but they claim it's rigged and cause trouble (civil crisis)
30% they win on fraud and we have to make the trouble (Constitutional crisis)
                                10% they win for real
