Ok here is my running grading, based on the first studio recorded song that comes up for each, which will not be fair:

C ... Bright Eyes, First Day of My Life -- sounds like a credit union commercial, soothing, anodyne
D ... Sunny Day Real Estate, In Circles -- excellent rhythm and drums, send the lead singer back to art school
B ... Cap'n Jazz, Oh Messy Life -- I miss Don Caballero too, derivative but they have chops
A ... The Jesus Lizard, Goat -- oh sh-t, I didn't expect an actual rock band in with all these you knows; solid
S ... Unwound, Corpse Pose -- if Gang of Four did Math Rock. I am in love with this band.
F ... The Dismemberment Plan, Waiting -- what if Hot Topic auditioned a coy BNL knockoff band, ghastly
C ... Built to Spill, Carry the Zero -- I have already forgotten them
A ... American Football, Stay Home -- keeping the faith, excellent intermingled rhythm, but directionless
A ... The Get Up Kids, Action and Action -- genuinely fun Fall Out Boy copycats, you can dance to it
S ... Jawbox, Savory -- strong, emotional, driving, hard workers, I respect this band, they have substance
B ... Pinback, Fortress -- garden variety lofi, catchy, lead singer has a sweet voice, he should jump...
D ... The Murder City Devils, Press Gang -- profoundly boring Marilyn Manson copycats
C ... Braid, Please Drive Faster -- excellent backing drums and rhythm guitar; awful singer and unimaginative choices
B ... Karate, Bodies -- Slint meets Henry Rollins. You have my attention.
F ... Hot Rod Circuit, Stateside -- generative AI programmed to complex, moody, quirky
A ... Rainer Maria, Ears Ring -- great contrast of kickin backing guitar with controlled hard lead; interesting
C ... Piebald, American Hearts -- they have all the elements but they don't quite gel, the only C I will follow, hoping for more
C ... Everyone Asked About You, I Will Wait -- The Killers with a frontwoman; best band name on the bill
D ... The Anniversary, Che -- a mess; lead singer should pay Tom Morello damages
C ... Algernon Cadwaller, Sailor Set Sail -- many are called, few are chosen
S ... Mannequin P-ssy, I Got Heaven -- Kim Gordon fronting Albertos Y Los Trios Paranoias
C ... Momma, Sunday -- elevator music for Influencers
B ... Fiddlehead, Sullenboy -- ... rocking unit should replace their weak singer with the guy from Pinback
D ... Foxing, The Medic -- angsty ute feels, hard pass
B ... La Dispute, King Park -- every band on this list put in a blender and fronted by GG Allin. TBH not bad.
A ... Drug Church, Million Miles of Fun -- major league guitar and not just wanking about
S ... Sweet Pill, Eternal -- Slint meets Billie Eilish. Oh, you definitely have my attention.
B ... From Indian Lakes, The Flow -- excellent technicians, derivative but not sure of who
A ... Pool Kids, That's Physics Baby -- note to self: blend offbeat signatures with a sweet, easily accessible voice; PROFIT!
F ... vs Self, Frances -- someone needs a hug
D ... Home is Where, Caveboy -- a videographer loosely affiliated with a boring Ultravox copy band
B ... Form of Rocket, Sack of Smashed As-sholes -- Robert Fripp drops acid with Godsmack
C ... Recover, Chvrches -- the slow decomposition of Yazoo
D ... Worlds Worst, Knockout -- there is no substitute for talent
C ... Hello Mary, Special Treat -- if Wes Anderson managed the Runaways
C ... Bug Bath, Lily and Parrots -- the Platonic ideal of ordinary
    C ... Rocket, Future Memory -- if 1997 Portland was a band
    C ... Phony, Summer's Cold -- there's a reason there's a bottom of the bill
C ... Boyfriend Sushi Town, Ski Mask -- Nirvana takes Ludes

unwound’s drummer Sara Lund is fantastic! They have a Sonic Youth vibe at times but more moody.
Thank you. I am going to sample them all.

I had confused Jesus Lizard with King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, so, in fact, of those 39 bands, American Football is the only one I had ever heard of, let alone heard.

There were several names I recognized and have listened to mostly from suggested playlists - Bright Eyes including Conor Oberst, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jesus Lizard, Built to Spill and The Get Up Kids. Like Kepler there are many more I have no idea but I'll look into because you never know...

The whole album released on Friday. I’ve only heard the two songs released as singles, of a sort, and I’m happy to hear the Crowes sounding like the Crowes.

I think, at this point in there career, they like to counter whatever the popular tempo/feel of music is, when looking at their last few albums.

September 5, Dweezil at the Birchmere in Alexandria VA. Fiftieth anniversary of Apostrophe.

I want to meet some of you flyover f-cks finally, so come. East Coasters, I am accepting no excuses. You better be in.

Take it as the semi-last wish of an old man. It's not like I'm likely to see any of you at the F4 in this life.

TIL, on Weird Al's love letter to Zappa, Dweezil plays the guitar solo.

The Pixies parted ways with Pez Lechantin and she had no idea until she read about it on the news.

Frank Black must be a coward. On the first band break-up he faxed the other members from Europe.ugh
