I know this isn't the thread for this, but that I cannot do. I never vote for someone who's running unopposed. And in this state I vote against every incumbent (which means I've voted for some hilarious people and parties). I'm not sure I'll vote for any republicans, but I will absolutely not vote straight party ticket, ever. One party rule is terrible.
I gotta little bit of smoke and a whole lotta wine...

I'm all for not voting for people who run unopposed, actually.

One party rule may be bad, but it is better than having a Nazi running the sheriff's department.

But right now its the only option until either the Republican party is dissolved, and replaced by somethuing else, or regains its sanity. voted for lots of republicans in my day. Never again.

        • Came across this for the first time yesterday. Pretty amazing. I saw them on this tour, but frankly don't remember a whole lot about the show. Tough getting old.

                  • So, Benny Goodman is deceiving. He has his tier 1 standards that brought in the money, but below that there's a mine of experimental, complicated, difficult pieces that must have been daring and strange.

Ellington is the emperor of this phenomenon. I don't think there's ever been an American composer so far ahead of his time. Popular music still hasn't caught up with Ellington's most bizarre and disturbing work. But Goodman is like a junior league version of Ellington. The signal to noise ratio is lower but his best stuff is remarkable.

                      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgjRJyPGG1k

Tool linked it in their Instagram. It's a mashup of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir and Tool's Sober. I find it sublime and have fallen in love with the vocalist. Whose singing is also 50/50 in the comments.

                      Anyway, enjoy.
**NOTE: The misleading post above was brought to you by Reynold's Wrap and American Steeples, makers of Crosses.

                      • There's just something about this song. The general feeling of melancholia it invokes. But then there comes that incredible chorus. Her amazing vocal. Loved this song from the first time I heard it.

And it was only about a year ago I found out that that's Ryan Adams on the chorus with her.

"I been out walking, don't do too much talking"
