Kind of cool, though. I wonder if she has brothers Peter and Paul?

Funny thing. I'm in my early 40s and didn't start liking electronic music until my early 30s. I wouldn't give it a chance until new mutual friends but now my Spotify rewrapped is... eclectic.

I think the only one on the list I posted that some people outside electronic music fans could possibly know is Porter Robinson. I love his Worlds album, but I fully understand if people can not get past the use of engineered vocals. Divinity is my favorite track off it.

                • Just gave a full run through of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus. I need to remember to not go so long in between again.

Have you seen the documentary about Nick? He was a... complicated... person. Somewhat reminiscent of the Peter Sellers one.

I am definitely going to give electronica a deep dive someday. The only genres I can't find any redeeming features in are modern country and auto-tuned tween. There's good music to be found in everything else, and I'm sure edm / trance / dubstep / techno / house / etc have their share of legitimately good groups and songs.

99% of everything is crap, but 1% of everything is worthwhile.

No but I will seek it out. His music and lyrics are quite complicated so that does not surprise me.

                            • Was on a David Bowie kick today. You cannot nail him down and I will not try. What's interesting is that he's one of the few artists that if you asked me every 6 months what I think his best albums are my answer would likely change. He's that eclectic. In no particular order:

Unwashed and Slightly Dazed, Janine, Conversation Piece, God Knows I'm Good, Hunky Dory. Changes, Life on Mars?, Quicksand, Queen *****, Soul Love, Starman, don't get me started.

I think next to the Beatles and Prince he might be the only artist I never hated.

                                Really?

That seems... kind of combative towards music. :-)

I can think of very few artists I've hated, and then not for musical reasons. The fans, now. Different story.
