In the "why is this trending on Twitter?" file, apparently some DJs/staff at a Vancouver radio station were fired and their colleagues have responded by playing Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name Of" on repeat all day, and still going as of writing this post.

I guess you can call in a request.

I still remember the "underground" hype leading up to their first release which was 2001. The internet was still in its infancy compared to today, social media was nearly non-existent, and who are these guys?

One day I somehow got a link to a web-site for the band that was somewhat interactive (again compared with today barely) and you could explore around, see certain things, but Albarn and crew were very smart about how little they revealed. I was a fan of Blur and had no idea there was even a connection.

Long story short it was brilliantly handled and made all the better by the fact the music is legit. I and some friends went to see them in Chicago in 2002 and it was quite the spectacle. In 2010 in Minneapolis they had completely perfected their craft and it was one hell of a time.

I think this is my cue to blast "Feel Good Inc."

    Thank you!

I'm also performing at Drag Bingo in September.

    I get two songs.

Second one is going to be "Bang Bang" by Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, and Ariana Grande.

First one is up in the air between:

"Sex and Stardust" by ZZ Ward
"Hold My Heart" by Lindsey Stirling and ZZ Ward
"Something Bad" by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood
"Mama's Broken Heart" by Miranda Lambert
"If I Never See Your Face" by Rihanna and Maroon 5
"Nothing Breaks Like A Heart" by Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson

Me, listening to Alanis at 12: this is cool, I guess.

Me, listening to Alanis at 40: "AND I'M HERE TO REMIND YOU OF THE MESS YOU LEFT WHEN YOU WENT AWAY.. " as I'm driving home from work at 11:30 at night because I'm so angry.

You know I too haven't listened as much lately and because of this post I am now listening to their first album again - Turn On The Bright Lights. It's brilliant.

It is mindblowing these songs can be done live when you research how much work is done. Josie had about 1000 studio and mixing hours to produce a 4:30 song.
