Lake State recently lost 2 players from their 1994 National Championship team. Goaltender Blaine Lacher passed at 53 on Jan 29. He holds the NCAA record for consecutive shutout minutes at 375:01. Sean Tallaire, who is 4th on the all time points list for LSSU, passed on Match 12 at 50.

Definitely CTE. He was always an ape of a player, but he was already showing clear symptoms with his on-ice behavior at the end of his career.

super sad because they just figured out why she was having weight issues and she had shed a ton of weight. She looked great and my mom was super excited to have a "young" dog again. Just devastating.
    Really sorry to hear that.

We have a Westie that turned 14 last December. He has diabetes and is mostly blind and deaf.

We are treating the diabetes and if we can keep it under control our vet will ok cataract surgery. Nothing can be done about his hearing.

Interestingly enough aside from the fact he no longer tries to chase birds nor feels it necessary to bark at fireworks, he's the same happy go lucky boy that still acts like a puppy. At this point we feel lucky for every new day that we still have him, but I don't look forward to when it's his time. He's been alive for more than half of the lives of the kids and we almost always take him with us on vacation, including when we go to Thailand every year.
