    Agree. It was a soap opera for young males, but it was really fun and very pretty. (I've heard what killed it was how expensive it was to make.)

    I loved the portrayal of how the middle class lived in Rome. It was something you just don't get from epics. There was a lot of currentism (IRL he would have been just brutal to his servants and to women, even as a very good man) but it wasn't braindead like say Gladiator.

    I was talking more about Black Sails but it's also true about Rome. Though he was only in Black Sails for like 11 episodes but was in most (all?) of Rome.
