Well, I hope not. I have witnessed a lessening of the fury of the Left against the Center and also a lessening of the mindless demonization of the Left by the Center. Obviously, both sides are fundamentally incommensurable, but like FDR and Uncle Joe "we have a bigger problem now."

Now, I think the fascists and the media each want to exaggerate our animosity, each for its own ends. So you will always see DEMOCRATS IN DISARRAY!!!11! on cable news and the internet. But at the personal level, while of course there are lots of anecdotal cases, I believe it is far more quiescent.

And even if it were not: do not give comfort to the enemy. Be the change you want to see in the world.

It horrifies me how selfish and stupid we are. This truly is an issue where both sides(and really quite a bit of the population) deserve blame.
We had 4 years of "next week is infrastructure week" that never happened and now we have actual infrastructure legislation that has been proposed by the Democrats with no support from R's.

So explain in small words that even you can understand how this is a "both sides get blame" issue.

And we can't ignore the small fact that this whole movement against infrastructure support dates back to Reagan- who coined the whole "guns not butter" bs. Basically, Drew- you have been directly supporting this movement until you finally realized how bad dumpy was for this country. Don't pretend this is some kind of new thing that gets blame from both sides.

Heck, even here in Michigan, our Governor ran on "fix the damn roads" can't get anything through because R's won't do anything. And they never did anything when they had ever single branch of our government.

        This is 100% republican's fault.

Of course it is. But their voters are loyal and our voters are not. That's why they continue to hold power everywhere. Our voters are silly and actually want results for their vote. Their voters only require you be a card carrying member of the tribe.

I think we're getting that way too. It's just that we are a diverse coalition so tribalism is really hard to cohere, whereas they are a monolithic block of uneducated white Christian aggro as-sholes, so to establish bona fides a candidate only has to drag one of their Designated Villains.

We'll see. White woman flocked back to them again when Youngkin explained to them that their children are being taught in school that they are racists.

You do realize the idiom "but that's just me" means, basically, that I can only speak on my own behalf, and not on behalf of what others may think, not that I'm claiming some sort of authorship or origination of the thought or statement?
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

We all realize "but that's just me" means "as any fool can see."

Again, you can't play that here. You're running Echo Chamber middle school plays in Cafe high school. No, it's not grad school, but it's not the finger painting Righties do all day. Dunning-Kruger is not your friend. Step away from the mic; you only embarrass yourself. Go back to Tucker and your Pepe friends and trade fart jokes. That's your lane.

Its a miracle that this happened when it did, as the article pointed out had there been school running as usual, or even happened later in the morning commute, this could have been a national tragedy.

My staff has been in contact with local emergency personnel regarding the Forbes Avenue bridge collapse in Pittsburgh. We will continue to closely monitor the situation. Wishing a speedy recovery to those who are injured.

                          • Republicans will lose zero votes over this. Zero. They'll all blame EVERY democrat who has ever been in office that could have affected that bridge.

Obviously the Republicans will deflect, deceive, and deny. That's what they do. But an effective Democratic party would control the framing and messaging and take the initiative. They would not respond or react to the mewling lies of the conservatives, they would simply state (1) what the problem was, (2) how the conservatives made things worse, and (3) how we will fix it if the voters give us more power. Simple.

The GOP has been doing this for decades: they grab every event, impose their interpretation, and shut out anybody else on their media. Do the same. Shut the 6-year old down, he doesn't get to speak just because he has a book of matches. **** him.

It's worse than that- R's are taking credit for the bill that they voted against. That's happening all over the country.
