Canada upended the US in the final last weekend. I believe that's the third championship (two WCs and an Olympics) that Canada has won.

      • Oilers, at least for this season, are declining to use a jersey ad patch.

It's all about Hockey Related Revenue. Traditional sources of HRR are just about tapped out. If you want to keep tickets affordable (HAH!) and have the salary cap to increase.at a steady pace (Maple Leafs, I'm looking at you!), you have to think outside the box.

European hockey jerseys are right out. They're over the top. European football jerseys (kits?) seem to be tasteful. For our local hockey team, it would be a big Capital One logo on the chest, the Weagle on the left shoulder front, Ceasars Sportsbook on the shoulder cap and the NHL logo at the bottom of each number.

I'd also sell the four zone faceoff circles and find a way to have floating ads on the boards (one for the home TV, one for the road TV, and one for the spectators).

It's more about economics than feelings.

In our youth there were no dasher board ads. Now there are.

Never say never. The bosses are businessmen first, hockey fans second (except for that guy in Edmonton).

Tickets are already priced at whatever the market will bear. I think over advertising hurts the brand and isn’t worth it for short money. If teams were going to get $20mm a season for a jersey advertisement that would be one thing but I doubt they’re getting anything close to that.

                        No. Exactly the opposite.

The drive to profit from every interstice of human activity is the enemy of the expression of the softer, Oakestonnian measure of human fulfillment. It's parasitism. You of all people should know that. But conservatism was hijacked by its ancient enemy, commerce, and you fell for it. The money lenders colonized your temple, and you fell into line, because ANYTHING but allying with those who understand the malignancy of capital while rejecting the Magic Show.

The protection of the privilege of idle elites, and the jamming of the agenda of ownership elites down all our throats, are exactly synonymous. Come into the light.

                        Kill marketing. Save humanity.

                              Fixed it for you.

Hockey Canada is absolutely so far up their a**es that their heads are poking out again. To claim that little Braydon and little Ayden are going to stop playing u8 TimBits youth hockey because the heads of Hockey Canada are told to step down is ludicrous.

There is an ugly culture that continues to thrive within hockey, especially Canadian youth hockey because the current leaders "had to put up with it, and they turned out okay *eye twitch*." It's a microcosm of conservatism.

Everyone involved in Hockey Canada needs to be fired. And told to never darken the doorstep to any youth sports ever in their lifetime.

Same should have been done with USA Gymnastics. And Penn State football. And Ohio State wrestling*.

                              * Okay, maybe no youth sports AND no politics for the rest of their lives.
