(Of course, these are the same fans I once heard say that even if OJ did it, she probably deserved it. I kid you not. And some of those comments were spoken by women.)
Everybody’s doing it: OJ, Warren Moon, Billy Dee Williams … Billy Dee Williams, Billy Dee Williams beating on women! What the f*ck is the world coming to? Say it isn’t so! Billy Dee Williams! What? I guess he must have had a little too much Colt 45. (A malt liquor) You know what they say, “There’s no reason to ever hit a woman.” ****! There’s a reason to hit everybody. You just don’t do it. ****, there’s a reason to kick an old man down a flight of stairs. You just don’t do it. Ain’t nobody above an ***-whooping. Ok? Anybody can give you a reason to hit him. And women know this for a fact. Women ??? women know this for a fact there ain’t nothing more crazy, nothing more out of control, nothing more likely to embarrass you in a f*cking restaurant than a woman that knows you ain’t gonna hit her! When a woman is with a man she knows a 100% ain’t gonna hit her, oh! She can’t wait for him to do something wrong so she can yell at him like a little boy. “What the f*ck are you gonna do? Kiss my ***! I don’t care where we are, just kiss my ***! “you punk ???, you punk ***! F*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you!” And the man’s like, “How the f*ck did we get here?” I’ll tell you how you got there. You had an argument with your woman, you went too far and that was it for you. And women know you can go too far. She’s like: “You can’t.” Yes, you can go too f*cking far! I am a man, and if I’m having an argument with a man that’s bigger than me I know there is a zone I don’t go into. Ok? A zone I don’t f*ck with, ok? Then women, women will go at you, they don’t give a f*ck. They’ll spit on you, they hit you: “What the f*ck are you gonna do? What the f*ck are you gonna do?” Then she says something… they say the wrong thing, something like: “That’s why your mother’s a *****!” And she knows she went too far! Then she braces herself for the hit like … then the hit don’t come, she’s like: “Oh, I’ve got him now! “You little dick motherf*cker, kiss my ***! Little dick motherf*cker! Yeah, I don’t give a f*ck! “Yeah, I’ve f*cked all your friends, that’s right! Yes, I did that! I tossed the salad, child!”
It's not widespread, but there is a slice of the NHL fan base that doesn't like:
a) the pregame / in-game promotions and theater
b) just how "Vegas" the whole thing is
c) still bitter about the expansion draft
d) annoyed that the team was in the SCF in just their first year.
e) having Mark Stone "LITR"-ed until playoffs
f) that the Vegas fans haven't had to go though suffering like "every other fanbase."
As for the LITR thing (which I barely understand), from what I've seen, they were hardly abusing that system compared to other teams- like Tampa. One even suggested that even with LITR, they were actually under the cap.
For the show- the rest of the NHL has been changing into that even without Vegas. When I was a kid, there was just an organist. When I was a student at Michigan, all of the sound came from the band or crowd. But before Vegas came, the sound system became important. Just as the video board did.
IMHO, Vegas is just the obvious evolution of all that has been happening over the last 30 years. Big deal. Good for them.
And don't the rest of the owners have to agree on how the expansion draft works? Blame them, not VGK. And that resulted in the SCF in the first season. And the lack of suffering. But I'm betting they will suffer just like the rest of us eventually. Given the nature of hockey, it really seems the cap rules work pretty darned well in terms of balancing success.

Hilariously, the most tweaked off fans are usually Kings fans.
That's pretty much my thinking, for the Red Wings. Which is why I asked- some of the U of Tubes channels suggest a mass hate of VGK because of conspiracy.

Hopefully they are smart enough to stop going to games, since it's the management/owners fault that he's in VGK.
Living in Sabres country, most Sabres fans believe that Eichel was a cancer in the locker room and unfit to have been the captain. So, your wish probably won't happen. (Of course, these are the same fans I once heard say that even if OJ did it, she probably deserved it. I kid you not. And some of those comments were spoken by women.)
I mean I'm a little annoyed as a Sharks fan, but at this point that's more on the Sharks than the Knights.

Dumb question- is VGK really that hated of a program? I discount kep, as he want's the NHL to go back to 6 teams.
But I don't mind them. All of the teams had to agree to the expansion draft system, so if anyone needs to be blamed, it's them. And from what I'm also seeing, VGK hasn't abused the cap rules as much as other teams have. At some point, the fact that they have players that have turned into stars will hurt them cap wise, too. Just like everyone else.
A lot of what they did from a management standpoint is similar to what the Pats did- take good players that other teams didn't want and convince them to play to their real potential (or simplify it so that they can). Anyone can do this.
Minnesota and Columbus fans can say their expansions were not given as favorable of a draft but Seattle and Vegas put up a LOT more money.
and Vegas isn’t only team playing with cap situation - they’re using what is available to them, can’t say I blame them if it’s within rules. I’m not expert and can’t remember if the rules are always applied consistently or not
