He knew and kept quiet about it, too - lots of Hawks players at the time knew. It was joked about in the locker room and some players were teased about visiting Aldrich afterhours. The whole culture is just sick.

If you're a current player, do you still trust Toews to be captain? If so, why? Because he's got three Cup rings? Was that really worth his silence on this when it might have prevented further assaults?

He was just finishing his second season as Captain and was 22 years old. He's also two years away from having his own "cover up" for crashing into the L supports leaving his loop apartment going to morning practice (2012). And Kane will have his Madison excursion that summer as well (2012)



I am not making excuses, but Toews is now a 33 year old with a decade of experience and maturity. But to answer your question: No, I really don't.
