Man, this draft lottery isn't much of a lottery. Going backwards, the order is the original order up until #3, where Columbus moved from 2 to 3. Meaning Bedard and Fantili go to either Chicago or Anaheim. If this whole run up was to just swap Chicago and Columbus, what a waste of time.

And Bedard goes to Chicago, meaning Fantili will go to Anaheim.

Here's what's really odd- how is the rest of the line up exactly what it should be based on the odds? You would have expected one or two place swaps. But exactly nothing changed even when odds were not all that different.

Then we get to the top, and magically, the 11% slot won it.

Maybe I don't understand how the lottery actually, mechanically and statistically, works. But the lack of change except for one team jumping 2 just seems... odd...

OK- just looked it up. Apparently they just choose who wins, and depending on who it is, they then lottery the next down a little. So Chicago actually won- making 4 down not mean anything wrt the lottery. Then it was who would be #2. And for that, Columbus lost.
