    Babcock's best success was with older experienced vets, of which I don't immediately think of the Blue Jackets.

    From a Wings fan perspective, Babcock was a good coach, but his methods left a lot of questions when rumors started being proven true. Same can be said for Quenneville.
    I wouldn't care to have either one behind an NHL bench again, given what we know now.

    Rumor has it some has-been retreads are making their way back into the NHL orbit:
    Blue Jackets floating the idea of hiring Mike Babcock beg8nd the bench
    Rangers floated Quenneville as HC.


    From a Wings fan perspective, Babcock was a good coach, but his methods left a lot of questions when rumors started being proven true. Same can be said for Quenneville.

    GWG by WMU alum Frederik Tiffels. Given USA's record in this and that it's for teams who missed the playoffs, I assume no coaches worth a damn want the job.

    Best result: Gold (1933, 1960), last Silver in 1956
    Me: Oh.

    And 1956 and 1960 don't really count because the Olympics doubled as the Worlds then. The last silver they won in an IIHF-specific World Championship was 1950, but despite finishing 2nd they didn't even get silver medals because the European champion apparently received silver. So they finished second but won bronze.
