Nope. He also didn't call any of the Generals idiots, insult Gold Star Families, spit in the face of NATO or declare victory for himself.

He talked about how he was making the announcement in the Roosevelt Room where Dubya made his announcement. Talked about he and Obama wanted to get Bin Laden and did and a decade later we are still there. Said he didn't like the deal that was cut with the Taliban to be out by May 1st but that it isn't his job to not honor the agreements of former Presidents (swipe at Trump obviously) so that is when the withdrawal will begin. (will be done by September 11th) Said he informed Dubya about what was going to happen and then was not as snarky about him despite their disagreements on policy over the years. (he obviously respects Dubya more than the Fat Orange ****ing Traitor) Said there is always an excuse to to leave but sooner or later you have done all you can do.

It wasnt gonna tug any heart strings, but it was his "This is unwinnable so lets stop wasting lives and money on it" which is exactly what it should have been.

My ship, the USS Steinaker (DD-863) was a Gearing class destroyer, and like the others, it had been built during the closing months of World War II. It was 390 feet long and was powered by two steam turbines producing 60,000 shaft horsepower and driving two 14-foot propellers. Our main purpose was anti-submarine warfare, or ASW. Our top speed was 36.8 knots - destroyers are known as Greyhounds for a reason
Our sonars were so powerful that at night they sometimes caused plankton to phosphoresce as a pulse swept over them, producing expanding green concentric circles of light radiating outward at the speed of sound from our enormous bow-mounted 30-foot sonar domes.

It's actually a BFD for that region. State Department did not have the integrity to do it for 100 years. Shameful that we were complicit in the Turks' lie, just like us not admitting Manifest Destiny was achieved by genocide.

                            • Ivan gets cold feet.

Russia on Friday began withdrawing troops that had been running drills near the borders of Ukraine, the defence ministry said, following weeks of heightened tensions between Moscow and the West over the buildup.

"Military units and formations are currently marching to railway loading stations and airfields, and loading onto landing ships, railway platforms and military transport aircraft," the ministry said in a statement carried by Russian news agencies.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu announced on Thursday that tens of thousands of troops who had deployed to southern and western Russia for exercises over the past few weeks would be returning to their bases.

The buildup, which came amid an increase in fighting between Kiev's forces and pro-Russia eastern separatists since the start of the year, raised deep concerns in Ukraine and drew warnings from its Western allies.

Both NATO and Kiev welcomed Russia's announcement of the drawdown, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky saying "the reduction of troops on our border proportionally reduces tension".

A NATO official said any "de-escalation by Russia" would be important, adding: "NATO remains vigilant and we will continue to closely monitor Russia's unjustified military buildup in and around Ukraine."
Elections have consequences. Lotsa Ukrainians very happy Dump lost.
