Actual headline: Misogynists use Misogynistic Argument to Promote Misogynistic Policy

      • Roe v Wade is soon to be dead.

Congratulations conservatives: miniature American flags for some, wire coat hangers for others.

Can someone please find Susan Collins and ask her if she's deeply concerned or merely troubled by this outcome?

"More from Barrett: "Actually, as I read Roe and Casey, they don't talk very much about adoption. It's a passing reference that means out of the obligations of parenthood." She's adopting Mississippi's argument that the availability of adoption obviates the need for abortion."

Great. Humans can be treated just like puppies and kittens. Can we also now put humans into burlap sacks and throw them into rivers? Euthanize humans when hospitals, nursing homes, or homeless shelters get too crowded?

          • I just hope this doesn't distract the pro-life people from their other hobbies of denying vaccines/masks and beating Capitol policemen with fire extinguishers.

                • There is a slim possibility Roe could stay and they could uphold the Mississippi ban which is at 15 weeks? I don't think that is what will happen though. And if it does, I think it will trigger a lot of other state laws that are already passed and just waiting for Roe to be overturned to kick in. We'll see.

My only hope for this country right now is that this case ends the GOP's hopes of ever controlling the White House, Senate, and House ever again. But, Democrats have disappointed me before.

                  • The most interesting thing I heard today was the abortion clinic's lawyer rightly pointed out to the Court that Mississippi did not argue anything new. Usually when the Supreme Court hears a case there is something "new" to decide. Every argument Mississippi was making was already covered in Roe and Casey.

So, if they do overturn Roe it is my belief, and I think many others that the complete politicization of the Court will be complete. All of your rights will be at the whim of the political process. All precedence which is supposed to be a cornerstone of our Judicial System will be rendered meaningless.

If women still vote Republican after this we should repeal the Nineteenth Amendment.

It's too bad for the GOP that this will lose them the Q vote. I mean, more kids bouncing in and out of the foster and social systems, areas already ripe for abuse and trafficking, that seems like something they'd totally be against, right?

And you know they will twist themselves into knots to justify a national pregnancy registry, but never a national gun registry because the "shall not be infringed" phrase of 2A somehow applies to that.
