A lawyer in Florida is arguing that an incarcerated pregnant woman's fetus hasn't committed any crimes and is being illegally detained, which endangers the health of the unborn child, therefore the woman should be released until the baby is born. Let the mental gymnastics begin.

It was just a miscarriage, aided by a doctor in a hospital because the pregnancy wasn't viable...

I know. I just needed to hear a lie. :-(

                              • The North Dakota Supreme Court, whose members were all appointed by Republican governors, unanimously ruled today that North Dakota's "trigger law" banning abortion violated the State Constitution, basically recognizing a State Constitution right to abortion, at least with respect to the life, health or safety of the mother, and invited the lower court to evaluate whether a broader right is provided by the State Constitution.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.
