Manchin has seen the biggest swing in home-state popularity in the last year. Built entirely from approval from republicans and independents, because his approval among Dems dropped 20 points.
Bernie and Leahy saw the biggest drops in the past year by far, but even with that they’re still
the third and sixth most popular senators.

Manchin should just go independent and caucus with whoever is in power that cycle. I understand he votes with Democrats a lot but not on the legislation that really matters. Not everybody can do it coming from WV, though. He’s a Dem senator in a state that went +40 GOP in 2020. Manchin has by far the biggest WAR of any senator. Once he leaves, WV is red indefinitely.
