Not the US Schedule. The start of the entire thing with Qatar/Ecuador Sun. 11/20.

Is Fox contractually obligated to having it on broadcast?

Honestly I can see them just pushing it off to FS1 as it's not a major draw kind of matchup. And obviously the draw of a single NFL game would dwarf the soccer match, even if it was the USA.

Sucks for Fox that both the 1PM and 4PM kicks would be covered by the soccer match.
I don’t know if Fox is obligated to show the opening on broadcast or not but I’d assume they’re going with the NFL regardless.

TBF, it wasn’t supposed to be on a Sunday anyway.

Fox paid $250 million for this tournament and it keeps getting worse for them lol.

              That sounds like chickenfeed.

My question is how obviously will Qatar have bribed the refs for their games? If this were the Saudi they would simply kidnap and torture the families, but I don't think the Thani have that muscle.

All they have is money and the non-Asian and African refs are either not going to risk set for life careers or are already bought by someone in the home country. One of the Asian or African guys maybe but they’re not going to be on a Qatar match anyway.

No network in America was probably that interested with soccer head to head with football.

                  • Someone explain the Barca situation to me.

They had seven players they signed this year that are not yet registered with La Liga because of their finances. As far as I know there isn't a salary cap in La Liga, which seems to be proven by the fact that they sold off some of their media company to increase their "cap" and allow them to register those remaining players. So what is this cap they're being restricted by? Something like percentage of liquid assets? And how did it get that they're waiting until the last days before the season to figure things out? This seems like something that should have had a vision when they signed the players and taken care of immediately after.

                    • I believe the last time Brentford beat United was 1938. They're up 4-0 early in the 2nd half.

As someone who's gone down some deep Wiki holes related to English football, this morning is the first time I've heard of them.

Also hadn't paid much attention to if Ronaldo got moved or not. Looks like he didn't end up on one of the 200 rumored teams that came up during the summer.

I'd never heard of them either until I was scrolling through the tv guide this am and did a wiki on them. Yeah, pretty boy is still with United. They've got a quick turnaround with a match at home against Liverpool Mon. I can foresee 0-3.

                            • Things got a little heated between Chelsea and Tottenham. After Tottenham's first goal, Tottenham's manager yelled to Chelsea's bench and the managers came together in a screaming match. Each got a yellow. Then after Tottenham tied it in the 96th and the game ended, Tottenham's manager went for a drive-by handhshake while Chelsea's manager held on and twisted him around. Another screaming match and both received red cards.
