  • USA decides to show 2 teams in the relegation zone(Everton/Southampton)tomorrow at 10am. I'll admit I've been following Brighton this year and they're home against Liverpool at the same time in a meaningful match for both so I imagine that's why that match is on Peacock. It's only $4.99 a month for Peacock or just wait and catch them on USA next week when they're at Leicester.
A bad cause requires many words.

        • Barcelona are tearing Real Madrid to pieces in this first half.

Arsenal dominated the North London Derby.

Newcastle got a fluky reprieve against Fulham when Mitrovic double-hit his kick from the spot and eventually scored in the 90th minute to secure a win.

It is a four team race atop the Premier League, but Arsenal are eight points clear of City and nine from Newcastle and Man United.

Offside or not? It's almost unanimous among referees that the goal should stand and almost unanimous among players that it was offside and the goal should not have been allowed. By the laws of the game, the correct call was made, but it also seems like the law itself allows for interpretation. Rashford's presence caused the defender and goalkeeper to alter their strategy and allowed Fernandes to score. So you can still argue by the letter of the law he was interfering with play and the play should have been blown dead.

By the LOTG he’s (barely) not offside, and I can understand the justification for why he wasn’t (he’s continuing his run and actively not trying to play the ball), but it really should be offside.

How is his stutter step not considered “making an obvious action which clearly impacts the ability of an opponent to play the ball”?

The keeper reacts to it, believing it’s a shot attempt. And then when it’s not kicked he now has to decide which of the two players he needs to focus on.

Allowing that goal essentially legalizes always sending an offsides decoy to distract the keeper.

It’s because he was, at least appearing to, trying to avoid playing the ball.

I dispute the bolded part. I think he was lining up to kick it when he saw his teammate and only then backed off. I think he was actively trying to play the ball and lucked into not touching it.

*Shrug* You’re probably not wrong, I’m just going by what was seen and the fact that the LOTG kinda forces the benefit of doubt.

                      • Telemundo has signed on to stream all the USMNT and USWNT friendlies as well as the SheBelieves Cup, which means Peacock just became a way to watch the national teams rather than paying $15 a month for HBO Max.

Nations League and Gold Cup are still on CBS and Univision, but since there won’t be any qualifying for the next World Cup for the US, there are going to be a lot of friendlies.

That’s what I thought, but the article I read said CBS. Wasn’t sure if the rights had switched. That’s good news for me since Fox televises all the games. Seems like CBS got the rights solely to put them on their streaming app.
