    Not that surprising.
Agreed. The only countries with more goals than Mbappe:

    Netherlands
    England
    Argentina
    Spain
    Germany
    Portugal
    (and France, of course)

    • There’s a point in every World Cup where, to quote Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, “normality is restored”, wherein the traditional powers are left and there are no more upsets. Sometimes it takes all the way to the final like in 2002 and 2018, sometimes it happens by the quarterfinals like in 2006.

Sadly, I think we’re heading towards a World Cup like 2006. Maybe the next two days will produce upsets.

      • A little surprised when I heard no player on England's squad has been shown a yellow card yet.

I think you are likely right. But, here's to semis featuring Argentina-Japan and France-Morocco.

          • Japan will look for an early strike and then play defense for the rest of the game, but the Croatian air superiority may be enough to carry the day.

              • Not quite early, but Japan with a 43' goal to take a 1-0 lead into the half.

                • CR7 is going to Saudi Arabia to help them continue the sports wash. The annual $211,000,000 might be worth it to some people.

                      • Extra time. Japan have to be wary of a late bomb here.

I don't see any news of him accepting. He already rejected one offer from the Saudis. I doubt he'll make any move till after the WC.
