  • I'm still in the "Just qualify and I'll be content" camp here. Let's not put the cart before the horse...

The team has shown promise in the two Mexico games for sure. But the Gold Cup was a B/C team, so other than depth is didn't show much on our end. Instead I viewed it as panic/struggle on Mexico's end.

That said, I'm all in on this team for the next 7 months. Got a hotel in Cincinnati already for Mexico and will likely end up going to Columbus for Costa Rica. If anyone from here is gonna make the trip, a burger and beverage are on me =)
It's never too early to start the Pre-game festivities

    Go Cats!!! GO BLACKHAWKS!

    • Until the last time I was firmly "get out of Group." Since we took a step back now I am "just qualify."

It’s from a calculator for FIFA Rankings, the official one comes out next week.

The pots for the World Cup draw are now divided by FIFA Rankings so keeping a high ranking is somewhat important, though qualifying is the ultimate goal here.

        • I doubt the US moved up that far. The last official ones they were 20.

            • I am beyond "just qualify". I'm not saying they'll win every qualifying match or make the WC semis, but this team had problems heading into 2018 qualifying that have not yet been repeated.

Also that they haven't played a match with their entire A squad since?

If they can get as close to their best from the Euro players and not suffer cohesion/continuity they will qualify. My "just" prediction is get out of their group in 2022. Not qualifying at all would be a huge implosion.

You mean the Revs have no shot?

Reading those articles and the money involved is just mind-boggling. Barca over a billion $'s in debt and going out and signing 4 players, none of whom are named Messi is a head scratcher too.

I don't think Messi is old and shot enough to come to MLS for his Clint Dempsey Wheelchair Money Tour.

                      • Canada wins the gold over Sweden.

1-1 draw. 3-2 in penalties after six rounds. Sweden could have won it in the fifth, but their four time Olympian completely missed the net on what was a wide open net with the keeper already committing left.

Quite the stat line for the Canadians this tournament. 6 games, 6 goals, 5 goals against, 4 draws, only 2 wins.

The French really don't like tax evasion.

He should have gone to Monaco or Valletta.

                              • Messi signed a 2 year deal for ?25m per year after tax and PSG holds a 3rd year option.

Gotta figure out how to edit.
