THis is interesting. It tells us a few things:
    1. He's not going to be nominee for SCOTUS when Breyer retires 2/1/21. Good.
    2. Sally Yates, OTOH...
    3. I'm a little surprised Klobuchar didn't get it.
    4. Doug Jones has to be tapped for DAG, right?

Biden already said his first SCOTUS nominee would be a black woman

        1. Yeah, good.
        2. Sally Yates I hope is Merrick's pick for Deputy but Supreme Court would be fine.
        3. I don't think any Senators will be pulled. Senate is too important.
        4. If Sally doesn't get it.

I didn't like that. Not in general but why announced/lock yourself into it?

Well, frankly he owes black women. And needed black women to come out in droves again in the special election to win the Senate.

            • Garland is a good choice.

              1. Put a 20-something Socialist on the District Court.
              2. Sally Yates will be fine.
              3. Doug Jones can suck it.
              4. Supreme Court Justice Cardi B.

Amy K. will likely be the chair of Judiciary...she will do GREAT things there.

I really wanted Yates...but if Garland is true to his word I won't be shedding any tears.

I also am glad Biden painted himself into a corner. It prevents him from making a dumb mistake and ignoring the reason he got elected. (Black Women)

The DOJ picks Biden announced today made me very very hopeful.

No. Biden's selections will be nobody you or I have heard of, which is good. No more Celebrity Apprentice.

They will, however, be justices the Federalist Society has heard of, hates, and fears. And they will be more qualified and dignified than the "originalist" clown car by the same ratio that the judges were compared with Rudy et al. during the cuckoo coup attempt.

We are embarking on the DeNazification of the government, and it begins with the courts. This will be Judgement at Nuremburg-on-the-Potomac.

The adults are back. Those people are there because they have expertise in police brutality, Jim Crow 2, and domestic terrorism -- the three pillars of conservative coercion.

                        • Can we stop using Ivies as some sort of selling point? They’re bad schools who have given us Hawley, Mceneny, DeSantis, and countless other insane morons who both use those schools as punch lines but also credentials to bolster their evil and insane ideas?

Nope. Because even though cynical people go to them and then go out into the world as monsters, the best people also go to them and cross-pollinate with each other.

The difference between the tier 1 schools and the rest isn't the #1 person -- that person could be anywhere. It's the #100 person. The reason why it was the Ivies rather than someplace else aren't nice, but a fact's still a fact. As long as the bright kid tends to pick Harvard over Minnesota, it still matters. It's the majors. There are great players in the minors, but the level of play just isn't up to it.
