My daughter teaches JHS in Arizona and they have given their district an edict not to discuss the impeachment -- not even the facts of what impeachment is. This is the creeping meatballism of the right, not the Ministry of Truth.

It isn't government censorship, it's right wing willful stupidity like Creationism, Climate Denial, and Supply Side.

Good points. And...”meatballism”!!!!🤣🤣🤣 i’m Going to have to use that on my two friends who are so enamored with the navel one.

For me the news cycle is absorbed differently. Once I read the CIA made up in whole cloth the following
    - JFK/RFK approves Castro murder plots (cia IG confirmed Kennedy’s did NOT authorize those plots)
    - JFK failed at Bay of Pigs (cia IG blamed the Agency and not the President) not to mention the potus told Dulles “no planes, no noise”
    Then admitted
    - Allen Dulles admitted in his own papers they set-up the Bay Of Pigs to fail

Add to that the overwhelming evidence they murdered JFK...I view the news as infused with propaganda and disinformation along with some limited hangouts.

Operation Mockingbird is/was a real operation starting in 1955.

Operation Northwoods from the Pentagon which JFK shot down.

Then I think about how we weren’t told in school about the overthrow of Mossadegh, Sukarno and Arbenz. How we weren’t told about the business plot to overthrow FDR in 1934 and Henry Ford building engines for Nazi trucks and panzer tanks.

It all adds up to a disbelief in much of the dominant narratives.

To quote Orwell “who controls the past controls the future”

    At least that’s my .02

I don't think so. I am sure a group inside the CIA murdered JFK*. I can't think of another conspiracy that even passes the sniff test.

    * Let's say I give it a 95% likelihood. The other 5% is that Russia murdered him and everybody spontaneously conspired to prevent WW3. But that one is way harder to believe since it requires coordination. It also means they would have had to scrub the Russian records after 1989 to prevent it from getting out from the other direction.

Operation Mockingbird is still running. And yes, even your favorite sources cannot escape it.

Here are excellent books on this subject:

And there’s Gary Webb who stood alone after Robert Perry was threatened into silence: https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Alliance.../dp/B005CDUKQY

Dark Alliance is a master class in investigative reporting. Why did the rest of the media ignore how deep this went?

Holy cow. I knew of the Max Headroom and the HBO signal intrusions, but never heard of this one. Very interesting.

The other astounding fact is the CIA’s Inspector General revealed they had NO EXECUTIVE authority for Castro murder plots. For decades authors like Seymour Hersh pushed the bull**** line that JFK and RFK wanted Castro dead. That was disinformation coming from cia sources.

    IG report here: https://www.history-matters.com/arch...0101_0001a.htm

And Seymour Hersh’s source? Sam Halpern disinformation specialist. Hear his contempt for JFK here: https://youtu.be/k5mu4iwFZNw now the voiceover didn’t consider the IG’s report he just took Halpern at his word

Everything I've read has said JFK was a sincere Cold War Liberal with a hatred of communism (and a pathological fear of Maoism which, in retrospect, yeah kinda hard to argue with). He believed that dominoes nonsense.

Don't get me wrong, the CIA murdered JFK. But they did it to protect themselves, not because they felt JFK was a security threat. They were a bunch of thugs protecting their racket.
JFK and Vietnam by 20-year military intelligence officer John Newman. His superior iirc, was NSA.

He details with footnotes to sources the 8 secdef meetings and I believe it was April/May 62 where McNamara told the generals who were in Vietnam to draw up withdrawal plans. They did so and JFK then asked them to speed up the timetable.

It was the JCS that essentially overruled JFK, ignored his directives and then Dallas happened.

But Newman sources all of it and McNamara has confirmed the withdrawal plans.

I don't think that's necessarily contradictory to the observations from his post if his distrust of the CIA was as stated in his post, but also if he did want to withdraw from Vietnam.

56 years ago today Allen Dulles orchestrated the murder of JFK.

In the preceding year JFK had pursued backdoor peace talks with Kruschev and Castro, initiated the nuclear test ban treaty, guided us peacefully out of the missle crisis, told McNamara to get the generals to prepare withdrawal plans from Vietnam, signed NSAM 263 declaring all troops out by 1965 and stood strongly with non-aligned countries against Dulles and Angleton at cia and the lunatics at JCS Lyman Lemnitzer, Curtis LeMay And Arleighh Burke.

In 1961-2 JFK thought a coup would come from the JCS/pentagon and he prodded John Frankenheimer to film 7 days in May. After the missle crisis he and Robert realized a coup would come from the CIA so in desperation JFK had Robert work 1 day a week at Langley in an effort to watch over the out of control agency and Robert hired 3-4 bay of pigs vets to keep an eye on Cuban cia assets for evidence of a plot they knew was underway. One month before Dallas JFK had his friend Arthur Krock write this astounding oped in The NY Times:
