Because I did read the book. The point of the plot "twist" was that communism was "all animals are equal," and it was betrayed when the pigs because the new owners and "more equal than others." The indictment isn't of communism per se, but of Stalinism and capitalism. It's the Fourth International declaring Stalinism has betrayed the Revolution and established just another bunch of gangsters at the top, just like in capitalism.Originally posted by St. Clown View PostCornell University
