      He didn't start the fire.

Dump was the body hitting the ground but Reagan pushed it off the building.

        • Can I catch stroke, or diabetes, or kidney disease from someone else?

And all those people that died from those, why didn't their big, beautiful immune system protect them?
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

          • My fiance has it. Started feeling bad yesterday and just tested positive with an at-home kit 20 mins ago. She went to a bar with some of her friends last Sunday, so that's probably where she picked it up. Still no symptoms for me, but perhaps I'm already positive as well and just asymptomatic.

We'll be fine. We're both triple jabbed, but obviously we aren't going to be leaving the house this weekend.

The Drs are breaking their Hippocratic oath of do no harm by denying this Pt. Kid is a perfect example of someone who is so ignorant they don't know they are ignorant. I couldn't help myself. Asked did he have a degree in this? I knew his degree was in CJ. No? well I have 2 and have worked with transplant pts, know folks who are on the transplant team and know candidates. Isn't that nice, he replied. Everyone claims to know someone and my degrees mean nothing if I am not willing to stick to the 'do no harm'.
Shared a link with info- he came back with he has reviewed all the AHA and CDC have published. He knows what is right.
More comments about do they screen out people who smoke or drink??
                      Yes, they do.
How dare they claim people screen out if they smoke/drink to excess because you know the patients all lie. Its all a scam.

I must know that if I were adhering to the oath I had to admit he would get an organ. And Drs have no integrity.
Sure. If there were enough organs we could waste them on people who were likely to fail and we had a way to protect against infectious disease but.... Welcome to healthcare- we don't do everyone gets a trophy (organ). Criteria is based on data collected over decades. His emotion doesn't override stats and medical evidence.

I made some comment that of course he won't be asking for medical help because they are so untrustworthy. (This kid has severe anaphylaxis with any exposure to certain allergens and has spent his fair share of time being saved by those pesky, lying Docs.)

Meanwhile I am reliving the times that patients died waiting, patients failed being a donor, patients had the transplant fail, patients couldn't afford to donate or get the organ. And I have a guy I know commenting on my FB post (BBC article) who is waiting for an organ and listing all the things they have to agree to- appropriate- to get on the list.

The kid I was messaging with is not a bad person. He is very ignorant and surrounded by people who prop up his ignorance and encourage it. When people say the GOP sheep will wake up- no. They won't. This is similar to the dynamic you see with abused defending the abusers. Rile up the outrage enough and they will never see they are being beaten to death.

This whole thing has me sick at heart.
The Death of Expertise really is a societal problem.

When I need taxes done, I go to an accountant. When I need a new roof on my house, I go to a roofer. When I'm sick, I go to a doctor.

Why people think they know better than experts is mystifying.

Where by mystifying you mean "the inevitable results of 40 years of the Right playing up American anti-intellectualism to divert from the inanity and surreal stupidity of all of their policy positions."

Next week Fox News should run an article on the troubling rise of racism and misogyny.

R's have been playing the fear mongering game for 40 years- guns, abortion, communism, etc- only to cut taxes for the rich.

The legislation around guns and abortion have been pointless- since that was fake just to get them to vote.

Cutting taxes for people who have more than enough money has been the ONLY thing the right has done since Reagan. BTW, running up the deficit (via wars or tax cuts) helps the exact same people.

The plan all along was to play down smart people just to cut taxes. Fear to cut taxes.

And now we can barely run a government. They have no idea how to deal with a pandemic, and get the world on their feet again. To the point that they do the OPPOSITE of what experts suggest- which is murdering people and making the economic impact worse.

Has anyone seen a breakdown of political affiliation in regard to COVID deaths? At this point I'd have to think it's at least 2/3 R to 1/3 D or Independent. This has to be working in our favor in Purple places, no?

I found this and this as a start.

                              From the latter:

So people in red states are more at risk. And within states, this lends support to the same effect by county:

I'm sure many statistical pieces will be written for the next 20 years quantifying how the Republicans are murdering their own voters. What we know right now is: they are.
