  • It's interesting to compare total cases / 1M pop and total tests / 1 M pop which reveals some huge failures. Not sorry to pick on some neigbors, but ND, SD and WI that are near the bottom for total Tests per (47th, 49th and 46th respectively), yet still find themselves near the top for total cases per (1st, 3rd and 8th). MN is 23rd most for cases per, but also 10th most for tests per.

I would express concern, but many months ago, we were very much instructed to not care. Especially when the Dakotas crept toward the worst of the worst states in many categories, in spite of the natural social distancing....

It looks like about 25% of the time North Dakotans went in to see if they had Covid, it turns out they were right. 94% of the time Minnesotans checked, looks like it was a false alarm.

          Seems about right.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Hey now, if they'd had AR-15s in biblical times, you know The Lord would've hauled off and shot the temple (((moneychangers))) instead of just turning their tables over. ;-)

                          • There's a 100% chance that everyone who predicted that restrictions would be permanent will not realize that they got lifted, so if ANYTHING happens again, they will proclaim that the sky is falling.

When you heard some of the BS when things got shut down, this was a very predictable outcome. (one of the oddest was that Democrats are anti-business, when they, too, get much of their funding from.... businesses.... it's a non-sensical argument that is impossible to debate over)
