Stay on topic ScoobyScrewLose. We are taking about prosecuting Covid.

On a side note do you think people in general have used the last 6 months to improve their health? Probably not that would be really difficult.

Much easier to run with 2020 Scientific Breakthroughs, wearing a mask, hand sanitizer and staying inside, it’s Science. And it’s great because you don’t have to take any responsibility for your own health. But you get to cry about everyone else.

You would think that your Dear Leaders like Media Appearance Fauch would share a few basic tips on the importance of being healthy? I mean he cares and loves you so much after all.

but nah F that, mask up Cowboy

Again, find some statutes and examples where people are being prosecuted. I imagine if someone has it and intentionally coughs in someone's face they could be prosecuted for assault or battery, and I think there have even been some arrests in that regard. But going to a wedding and then getting prosecuted because you later were in the same room or workplace as someone who later got sick? I don't see that happening.

She may have known she was sick, which is different from Hovey's hypothetical if I am following.

The correct medical analogy would be an employee who didn't wash her hands and got a restaurant of people sick. She doesn't know whether she has an illness but I suspect that will not help her in court.

Hovey may be correct that in the absence of statute intentional failure to use PPE does not constitute a prosecutable offense. To which I say, write the statute.

            Typhoid Mary was criminally prosecuted?
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

She was quote "sentenced to quarantine." I don't know if they are using the term "sentence" loosely but if there was a court then yes she was prosecuted.

It's very similar to today. She was in complete denial. After she was released from quarantine on the stipulation that she could never be a cook, she got a job... as a cook, and more people died. She simply did not accept that she was causing what she was causing. In that regard she is just like the anti-science nuts running around in the GOP. Even more on the nose the argument was made on her behalf that they could not deny her her right to earn a living. That right wing wackjobbery is evergreen.

It's my understanding that the health department in NY simply quarantined her. I'm sure she maybe thought of it as a jail term, but I don't know that she was actually criminally prosecuted. I assume it would be similar to a quarantine order today, although in her case I think they made in permanent.

That may be. And it may be that in 1907 as with PPE now they did not yet have a statute that she violated.

And that's why we have those signs in every restroom now that all employees must lavarse los manos.

So write the law that you have to wear PPE and social distance or yes we will indeed send you to the big house where they keep all the other people who used their freedumbs as a pretext to rape and murder.

                    Today

CDC Director: "These facemasks are the important, powerful public health tool we have ... I might even go so far as to say that this facemask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine."

Might just check to see if there are any of those old leper colonies that we could spruce up and use too.

I'm thinking of a more immersive solution.

IINM, that island Ellison bought in Hawaii was formerly a leper colony. I am all for eminent domaining it just to troll him.

Kyle doesn’t understand HIT. Kyle has not even looked at other countries numbers or even the worst case projection models for the US. Kyle doesn’t know what IFR is. Don’t be like Kyle.

                            Kyle (CNN) - BedWetter
There are approximately 328.2 million people in the US. To get to the low end of herd immunity, about 60% of the population must catch Covid. That's about 196,920,000 cases. The current US death rate is about 2.96%. So that's 5,836,679 deaths necessary for herd immunity.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL - 3 Power Conferences
                              Big 12 = 10 teams
ACC = 15 teams (don’t forget South Bend CC)
                              SEC = 14 teams
NCAA FBS Scholarship limit = 85

                              Do simple Math:
                              A) 39 teams X 85 players = 3,315 total players
                              B) Myocarditis affliction Rate: 15%
                              C) EXPECTED # of AFFECTED PLAYERS: 3,315 X .15 = 497 PLAYERS???

How does this number stack up against what we ACTUALLY know? Number of KNOWN Myocarditis cases from ALL SPORTS causing an athlete to sit out or die (feel free to add any new ones to this list)

                              1) Eduardo Rodriguez Boston Red Sox - Age 27 - in treatment
                              2) Indiana O Lineman - Age ? - in treatment
                              3) Serbian Pro Basketball player - Age 27 - died

When gauging these 3 against ONLY the 39 college football teams above, the percentage works out to 0.09%. How do we get to 15% from here? Is this where "new" math enters the picture? :-)
The Big 10 had a change of heart (no pun intended) on the prevalence and severity of Myocarditis. The football season is NOW, BACK ON!

Appears that the School Presidents, AD's and the league office listened to the fear mongering and jumped to overhyped conclusions when deciding to abruptly shut down the season. First it was 30-35%, then 15% and now ??%.

How did this happen? Why do we continue to latch on to every worst case scenario related to corona? Maybe the media REALLY isn't looking at the "science"?
