    • Queen Elizabeth has tested positive. She’s going to be 96 in April. Hoping she gets through this.

Imagine a virus so dangerous that a 95 year old widow can continue to perform her duties as Queen of England after getting it, but healthy/vaccinated teachers are still terrified of having their students go unmasked…

"Come back" at your own pace and don't let anyone push you. I had a small party this weekend (I know, I know) for my birthday. Everyone but 3 people were vaccinated and one of those three is 2, so she cannot be yet. We invited a couple of people who've been very careful and were honest that there will be a few unvaccinated. They chose to come anyway and had a great time. I asked what made them come, and their answer was that they feel that, here in MA, numbers are good enough that they can take this risk and that they need to begin re-emerging. I was delighed for them.

Now, watch us all get covid from it.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better Clown!

The fact you threw that in at the end if telling. You shouldn't have to explain yourself to anyone or fear being called out by the posters who frequent this thread.

I think my bona fides speak for themselves, but the fact is I was conflicted about having the party. This was no raucous college frat party - we had maybe 10 people over - but this was the first time I've had multiple people over indoors since Covid.

But we're quickly coming to the point where anyone who wants to be vaccinated and can be is (and in MA we have very high rates!), and there is low enough community spread that the high risk/immunocompromised aren't at a particularly high relative risk because of my dumb little gathering. The two adults that came over and aren't vaccinated are just that... adults... that are making a stupid decision, but one that they'll have to live with and not me. The rest of us are vaccinated and mostly boosted, so my personal risk is quite low.

                          • I just don't think you have anything to apologize for or even reference it as a dumb little gathering. It's been two years and you're vaccinated. You have done your part and are more than deserving of hosting a small gathering like you've described. Don't let anyone yell you otherwise. I have gone to a few sporting events in the past year and wore a mask at the indoor ones. I suppose I might be a little anxious going to the Frozen Four this year as I haven't been to an indoor event of that size. But in the end I am vaccinated/boosted and am looking forward to it. Going with a buddy who I haven't seen in quite some time. Everyone is deserving of that and shouldn't be shamed for it.

                            • Neil Cavuto returned to host Fox Business after more than a month, telling viewers that his absence was because of Covid-19 pneumonia that sent him to an intensive-care unit.

"Doctors say had I not been vaccinated at all, I wouldn’t be here," he said.
                              Duh.
