She has a mild case, just a little fever, cough, and sleeping a bit more than usual. We’re very thankful for that.
    Good luck and good vibes.

          • Another rant... You know the people who are constantly about personal responsibility and all? The ones condemning people getting shot by cops because they were accused of shop lifting, or how people are just terrible drivers and all.

I'm freaking tired of them not taking responsibility for THEIR choices. They complain that they are being segregated because they decide to not be vaccinated- as if words and choices have no weight to them. These are the same ones that bash regulations to want companies more freedom- unless that freedom of corporations is bad against their personal choice.

I know this has been posted before, multiple times by multiple people. And I probably have already done so. But I need to get it off my chest so that I can stop thinking about it.

              I endorse this rant.

And to add to it, the way they go about simply not believing the idea that they may unwittingly spread Covid while asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic as justification for their behavior is pathetic.

Your symptom descriptions match what our 2 year old had at the beginning of the year. She ran a fever for a couple of days and was lethargic compared to her usual boundless energy. Sleepy and a little cough. The cough lingered for a bit over a week. Her fever never got high enough to warrant a trip to the doctor, so we just kept an eye on it and didn't seek medical care.

I think it's very possible she had Covid.

                    • Ace and Gary lifted the vaccine mandate. The mask mandate is still in place.

                      • We're coming to that point where the outrageous pushback from the derps is starting to merge with the "vaxxed and done" folks (who are very different), and the actual impact of these mandates is becoming much, much less. It's probably better to lift them a bit early (if it is even early) than late, as it sort of gives some cover in case we need to reinstate them in the future.

Personally, I think lifting the mandates soon is both politically the right thing as well as medically the right thing. Leave the requirements on public transportation and planes, but the rest? It is time.

                        • As this thread shows, there are still innocent people unvaxxed who are more exposed because of the relaxation of standards. I would like to hang on longer for them.

If we can get to the point where the only people at risk are the ones who are loudly demanding to be smited for their foolishness, then, okay. But we aren't there yet.

Kids are at 0 statistical risk, bootlicker.

And NPIs do nothing to stop the spread of respiratory illnesses.

                              • We are looking at a time when we have enough people vaccinated and enough people with protection from previous infection that the COVID restrictions will soon be a thing of the past.
