As much as I hate "big business", I feel that this is really the only way we can get through to the DERP....
Conservatives, on businesses requiring employees to be vaccinated: "Nope, pretty sure that's HIPAA. Can't do that."

I don't like them either but if you think wearing a mask into the grocery store is a burden then you've had a pretty easy life (and good for you! No shade thrown here).
I dont want to speak for J.D. but I think burden is the wrong word. We shouldn't have to worry about doing it at this point but a bunch of selfish *****s have made it so.
I liken it to when you have a brother or sister that causes problems all the time and so the parents put rules in place that restrict both of you even though you did nothing wrong. In reality it doesn't affect you at all but it still gives you the red ***."It's as if the Drumpf Administration is made up of the worst and unfunny parts of the Cleveland Browns, Washington Generals, and the alien Mon-Stars from Space Jam."

And as much as I don't want to agree with JD, I think the point you are missing that Handy (I think), and I also are alluding to is that we are close to the point of telling people who haven't gotten jabbed yet is if they are to stupid to go out and get the vaccine, then we aren't wearing a mask or doing other things to protect you for much longer so at this point we don't care if you get covid.
(And yes I understand it isn't that simple and there are mutations and a tiny percentage of people for who it does not work or cannot receive it etc)
If tomorrow Governor Walz set up a mask mandate for the State of Minnesota in total he would almost assuredly lose his re-election bid. (which I would say he is a lock to win now as only the Trumpers dislike him cause he did what he promised) For the most part, once the data was in, Minnesota did everything right. We had a slow early rollout but we got the jabs in the arms and hit the numbers we were supposed to. We wore masks, we socially distanced and we sacrificed as much as were asked to. (by "we" I mean the vast majority...or the people with an IQ above 12) We did that so we could open back up and return to normalcy. If all the sacrifice was for nothing he will lose the support of the Liberals who were the driving force behind those actions succeeding. You cant keep asking Minneapolis to risk economic collapse because some county with 300 people in the middle of "WeWishWeWereinNoDakstan decided they would rather all die. Even if ethically it is the right thing to do even the most bleeding heart liberals have a breaking point...
I would say we are reaching that breaking point. And the problem is I dont know what we can do to turn the tide. But it looks kind of stupid to impose wide spread rules when half the people flout them anyways. It feels rather irritating to see 100k maskless people at Sturgis or Lollapalooza when I have friends who havent seen their parents in 18 months."It's as if the Drumpf Administration is made up of the worst and unfunny parts of the Cleveland Browns, Washington Generals, and the alien Mon-Stars from Space Jam."

If children whine about having to wear masks at school, I don't care. Schools have rules for a reason and we don't allow children to make a lot of their own decisions for a reason. Sometimes we don't let them do things even if their parents would be fine with it (e.g. - voting, buying or starring in porn, buying cigs/weed/booze), because a lot of parents are stupid, irresponsible, immature a55holes too.

Don't do those things because you're "tired of it" or just don't want to make the effort, and here we are.
As I said, the people crying and whining about how much they want to get back to normal are the same ones who won't take the steps to enable that to happen. Grow up.

I hate masks. I wear them whenever I can possibly interact with people (any social situation, any shop, and at work unless I am barricaded in my office alone).
It sucks but murdering people because I'm lazy would suck more.
