They could have turned the letter over immediately and let a proper investigation happen. It was a last ditch Hail Mary.

Pretty much. They did their job and did it exactly how they were supposed to. The Democrats are the reason this is happening.

Feel honored Republicans and "Centrists" you now are an anchor on the Supreme Court as well. I will laugh when in 4 years Roe vs. Wade is still on the books and you sold your soul to the Devil for nothing. At least Judas got 30 pieces of silver...

What respect I had for the FBI is now gone. They didnt even pretend to try. They talked to no one, investigated nothing and amazingly found nothing. They are the cop in Casablanca only at leas he feigned caring which they didnt.

This should be a fun couple of years for Collins and Murkowski. Hate to be on their staff

And like I said, this sham investigation just gives them cover to confirm and basically abdicate responsibility based on the findings of a third party rather than making a tough decision based on the claims of Ford and others. I can't say I blame the dems for wanting this to be further investigated but it played right into the R's hands.

That would have meant violating Ford's desire for privacy. A big, BIG no-no for a victim of sexual assault.

What the Dems have done, to their credit for once, is been on the right side of an issue. They've stuck up for the victims of sexual assault and gave Dr. Ford a platform to come forward with her story. Unlike the Anita Hill hearings they've pretty much done all they could do. Whether voters reward them for that or punish them or sit around with their thumbs up their a sses is up to the voters, not the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee. You can either sit out elections and let a Trumpian view on sexual assault go unchallenged, or you can punish him and his elected enablers at the ballot box. At some point voters need to be responsible for who they choose to lead them. November 6th seems like a good time to start.

Yes even Trump didnt stop that. The FBI didnt talk to Ramirez or Ford...or Kavanaugh for that matter. The FBI ignored all calls and emails or gave people the runaround. And here I thought the "I" in FBI stood for "Investigations".

Its taking a lot of effort to hold back my true feelings on this. My level of contempt for anyone on the Right, or really anyone who votes that way is at an all time high which is not healthy. I dont mind if they want to live in the Stone Age but their incessant need to drag us down with them is just getting to be too much. They love America, they just dont love anything it stands for anymore.

So the Dems should have just thrown up their hands and let it go? You understand not one of them survives if they pull that maneuver. They had to try and get this looked at, and they had no reason to believe the FBI would put zero effort in. Christ even half assing it would have yielded different results.

The Dems did the right thing...this has zero to do with them.

Maybe for once try reading what somebody writes and actually respond to it lmao. Good lord.

I don't blame them for wanting the investigation but that is undeniably the end result.

I believed the leaks earlier this week that the FBI wasn’t going to talk to anyone of importance. I don’t know why anyone would have hoped for better with this train wreck of an administration

Didn’t they violate it anyway when they realized it was the only card left? Do them Dems believe her or was she the only thing left that could stop Kacanaught’a confirmation. Your post is incredibly naive.

No because they didn't leak it, this isn't hard to understand.

I believe they interviewed Ramirez already on Sunday. They reportedly interviewed 10 people in total. Judge, PJ, Squi, were interviewed for sure, so at least 6 more.

I can see how the Ramirez thing could go down so it seems very plausible. I couldn't swear some sort of inapropriate sexual behavior didn't occur in my sober 8th grade games of spin the bottle. Couldn't swear to it. Let alone drunken college students egging each other into doing inappropriate things. But what is devastating to Ramirez is not only a lack of corroboration in that no one will say they witnessed such a thing, but that in the New Yorker story that broke the news, it states as late as 6 days before the story, Ramirez is uncertain as to what happened for sure and whether it was Kavanaugh at all. But 6 days later, on the proverbial eve of Kavanaugh being put forward to the Supreme Court, (and 35 years after the event) and after consultation with her lawyer, she decides she IS in fact certain what happened. It could all be true, probably is, but it's really hard to get past the "she didn't know, then she did" part in order to give her the benefit of the doubt.

What would or could they ask Ford? She said under oath that she told us everything she knows under oath. Unless there is some contradiction that comes up, there is literally nothing to ask her. Same goes for Kavanaugh. He was questioned under oath extensively by staff, and publicly testified under oath as to his story. Give me a question the FBI should ask Ford or Kavanaugh that wasn't asked and answered?
