I'll bet there are at least 10 on that list of Trump's like Gorsuch who wouldn't have had any of this happen and they're all just as bad for Roe vs. Wade, Corporate rulings, etc.

I do not know the full list of "no gos", so please don't consider that list inclusive, and don't claim to know everything he was asked. But if it was an interview were the appropriate laws regarding queries followed?

You can ask any question that's pertinent to the job, even if it's on the no-no list.

Does it matter if you're gay if you're applying as a line worker at a plane? No. Does your race matter if you're hiring someone to play Nelson Mandela? Yes.

And beyond that, since Congress is its own branch of government, it gets to make its own rules when acting in an official capacity.

In Minnesota it is a no-no to ask job applicants about their alcohol consumption, assuming it takes place during non-work hours and off premises.

They didnt ask him about his alcohol consumption now. They asked him about his alcohol consumption in HS and college AFTER he already talked about how he drank (beer, lots of beer, he loves beer, have you had a beer Senator?) so even by MN rules I am not sure they did anything improper. Just like no Dem asked his religion (only a GOPer would do that) and he made sure the world knew his marital status before he even spoke.
