  • One City, Four Sports, Pro "Mt. Rushmore"

Pick a city with four pro sports.
Pick the "noteworthy" guy for each sport.
Make the city's pro sports Mt. Rushmore.

    For example:

    Chicago
Ernie Banks, Walter Payton, Stan Mikita*, Michael Jordan

*dang hard not to put Jonathan Toews there

    Philly
Dr. J, Mike Schmidt, Bobby Clarke, Donovan McNabb (?)

Kinda hard to get pro hoop in Pittsburgh or Tampa so we can flex where need be; however, must be North American top tier professional sports.

I have Gordie and Isiah on mine.

Pistons are tough, Dumars/Bing/Billups/Thomas are all there. Only other Tiger that could take the spot is Cobb. Only other Lion is Layne, but he cursed them.

I was going to go with Kirby, Dino, Fran, and Mikan.

Detroit's pretty much covered, so I'll do Denver:

                      John Elway
Joe Sakic (honorable mention Patrick Roy)
Rockies are tough - go with Todd Helton, honorable mentions to Larry Walker, Andres Galarraga, and Matt Holliday.
Nuggets are tough too - probably Dan Issel or Doug Moe, maybe Alex English. Throw Mutombo on there too for his humanitarian work.

Yup. I was fortunate to see Russell play and it was a treat.

Someone from the Bay Area can do SF, but the discussion around Montana and Walsh has potential (not to slight Y.A. Tittle or Oakland fans).

Yeah, I was a huge Tony O fan, but Carew has to be in the discussion. Rare, rare talent.
