Bye Iggy. Thanks for the memories. You're forgiven for that pass.

@MichaelFarber3: Jarome Iginla is retiring, no doubt with the same grace and spirit with which he played. Here is my @SInow story from 2002. Check out the part about fans and the hotel room. https://www.si.com/vault/2002/03/11/...through-season

KHL side Avangard Omsk will reportedly play some of their first 2018-19 home games either in Mytishchi (suburban Moscow), or in Sochi. Avangard's arena in Omsk is in need of emergency repairs, and has been closed temporarily and won't be ready for the start of the season in early September.

                Not ideal.

Though not unexpected, it's still tough to accept the passing of Stan Mikita. For those not familiar with the story, Stan had a long with battle with dementia, which is similar to Alzheimer's.

For a fine tribute to Mikita, I recommend:

                    http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...807-story.html

Among other things, the column recounts how Mikita invented the curved stick.

The rest of the Chicago Tribune coverage is pretty good too. After finishing the Rosenbloom column, check out the Tribune's links.

The NHL could of helped him him out when he asked for help instead of turning their back on him.

Zetterburg has told Kenny his back is cooked. He will not play this season.

Thanks for your career, man. Adios.

Very sad to hear that Hank won't be able to go out on his own terms. What a career he's had. I'm going to miss him.
