Actually, MN was admitted into statehood on May 11, not May 17, in 1858. But thanks for the effort!

"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its Black Gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." Boromir

The 11th was an option. I was a planned cesarean, so my parents had options. The 11th and 15th weren't chosen because I would be sharing my birthday with my uncle or my father. My mother was determined that I would not share my birthday. The 17th it was.
