The rally reinforced my views on what is happening. You basically have three groups; people who strictly oppose nazis and are there for the right reason, alt-right, and alt-left. The first group are wonderful people who we are lucky to have in this country. The latter two should be denounced by everyone else who isn't part of them.
Too bad this is not a teaching medical facility. We could all gather around and take notes on classic symptoms of confirmation bias from a patient who is a near goner.

Peacefully denounce, I might add. Granted, the alt-right are more apt to start sh*, but the alt-left aren't angels, either.

Sure doesn't sound like the police were that upset with the counter protesters. Heck he mentioned that the counter protesters were there for the right reasons.

Oh, and some of the "free speech" guys were armed. He mentioned some had protective vests and at least one gun was confiscated.

One wonders who wanted the violence.

BTW, saw on the Tweeter machine, and made me laugh:

Why tear down statues? Just change all the plaques to read: "Get a load of this dumb, dead a*hole and his bullsh* horse."

In the slave states, very little will change. The GOP will use this as a way to milk votes from the hicks just like they did with gay marriage and trans bathrooms. It's their same old strategy of appealing to fear and bigotry to screen an agenda that calls for cutting the taxes of the rich and rolling back worker and consumer protections. This will allow a lot of dingbats in a lot of dingbat districts to tub thump and raise money.
You don't have to answer this if you don't want, and there is no hidden agenda here, but keeping Washington/Jefferson, is that due to their relevance in American history, do you think (in terms of the general populace's thoughts, not you personally)?

For me, once that ball is rolling, and it's rolling and it sucks...I don't think we can pick and choose. Once something is set, it's set. Unfortunately, the Confed monuments became more about racism/slavery than being a traitor. To keep.........credibility, for lack of a better term....if racism/slavery is the base requirement for removal of a monument/statue....we're in for some long times ahead.

I appreciate everyone's input, it's good to hear from all sides of the debate. Thank you.

    He is so pathetic.

I watched a little CNN, and they were showing the counter protesters chanting "black lives matter".

I wonder what the "free speech" crowd were saying. Nobody stopped them from talking, just from hearing each other.

Ya know that's the thing that keeps from these protests. Who do I bill my hours to? Is it Soros directly? Do I bill to the union and he reemburses them? Is it a holding company? Obviously I'm not liberal enough.

That explains all of the stories of counter-protestors helping guide ralliers through the barricades. And the whopping 8 reported arrests out of 20K people!

I'm reading apparently the gazebo gang didn't bring any PA equipment and thus had trouble hearing each other?
