I know. And part of why I'm so angry is I'm at a loss for what to do, other than donate where I can and make people aware this is going on.

It might as well be the Nuremburg Laws.

          • Things I am taking heart in:

I remember in 2017, Texas was considering a bathroom bill. The NFL said "you do, and we move the Super Bowl out of Dallas." Texas relented.

North Carolina passed HB2. The NCAA responded by taking all championship/tournament games out of the state. I forget if HB2 was repealed, but I do recall NC watering the original legislation down.

The NCAA has come out and told states currently considering anti-trans legislation "you do, and we'll yank all championship games from your state."

It would be very interesting to see the NCAA clash with Nebraska. I honestly don't know who'd blink first. The CWS is one of the few moneymakers for the NCAA, but you move it out of Omaha and that stops because you're not getting 25,000 people a game anywhere else. From Nebraska's side, the rural legislators wouldn't give a fark but no one from Omaha wants to be in office if that ever leaves, and you'd gotta think the Lincoln ones would at least pause since volleyball and wrestling are hosted on Omaha every 4th year or so.

CA? When half the teams competing come from there?

CA is so large 25k go to supermarket openings because they're bored, or just by accident. They could probably get 50k. ****, put it in the Rose Bowl and get 100k.

One, no MLB team is going to agree to go on a 14-day road trip in late June, and no minor league stadium seats more than 12,000 or so outside of the one in Omaha that was built specifically for the event.

Two, outside of Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and a few SEC states, attendance at college baseball games is normally measured in triple digits at best.

You could have USC playing UCLA for the title, and if it's in California there will be 2500 people there if they're lucky.

The NC$$ has to figure out how to get a cut of the hookers. Then all events would be held in LA and LV.

                      And SLC.

                      • Could sports be a legit point of leverage in general though?

We've already seen that Derpy McWhitey will absolutely follow the NFL still. Now imagine if the NCAA was somehow able to leverage BCS football. (Or that may be the straw that forces the Power-5 breakaway).

It's an interesting thought. Sports are declining in general but are still a major source of revenue for all parties involved.

I try to go to the CWS each year. There hasn't been more than a single California team in the CWS since 2008, (I don't recall any the last couple of years), and I have no idea when or if there have been four of the eight from CA.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Sorry, I was assuming. I was thinking:

                            (1) high temperatures
                            (2) low admission requirements

The places that came immediately to mind were FL, AZ, TX, and CA.

It wasn't a terrible assumption. It's pretty much Florida to Texas, with a little Carolina sprinkled in, lately.
