    Re: Tennis anyone?

The matches have finally resumed. They had a light rain in Paris which delayed the schedule. Matches have been moved to tomorrow in some cases. The Tennis Channel is showing the Roddick match, but Channel 704 is showing Ana's match, where she is already up a break. She was wearing a jacket in warmups, but took that off to reveal a very fashionable red number. I swear if her skirt was any shorter it wouldn't exist. She may as well wear a swimsuit out there...

And now Ana has given the break back. Roddick is already up 2 breaks in his match.

They are working on a new schedule, but it looks like there will be one less match per court. The tentative lineup:
    Channel 703:
    #4M Jancovic vs Kanepi
    #13M Monfils vs Fognini
    #22W Henin vs Zakopalov
    #7M Verdasco vs Serra

    Channel 704:
    #6M Roddick vs Kavcic
    #13W Bartoli vs Sanchez
    #3M Djokovic vs Nishikori

    Channel 705
    #28W Kleybano vs Ivanovic
    #4M Murray vs Chela
    #22M Melzer vs Mahut

    Channel 706:
Date Krumm vs Groth (Groth won the first set 6-0)
    #17M Isner vs Chiudenal
    Starace vs Ginepri

    Channel 707:
    #11W Li vs Cohen
    #14M Ljubicic vs Fish
    #9M Ferrer vs Malisse

      Re: Tennis anyone?

Ivanovic lost the first set 6-3 after leading 2-0. The ugly Russian won five straight games before they traded holding serves at love to end the set.

Ivanovic already has five double faults and isn't placing her shots deep enough. The Russian is absolutely killing her down the lines.

And she's already down a break in set 2. Doesn't look like she's going to last past the 2nd round.

2 breaks. At least Maria should still be around for awhile. And Wozniacki should be in it until almost the end.

Edit: 3 breaks. The Russian will serve for a 6-0 set. Hard to believe Ana was ahead in this match...

Ivanovic could be bageled in the 2nd set. She's just not hitting any backhands worth a ****. How the hell does a former #1 fall so far? If she doesn't get her **** together soon, maybe she should just ditch tennis and go the modeling route.

Sharapova is a slow starter, and when she runs into better opponents, that could bite her in the ***.

Wozniacki's defensive / counterpunch / retriever style should take her far in this tournament, but I wonder about her ankle which she rolled pretty badly not that long ago.

Ana was up 2 break points and gave them away.
            6-3 6-0 Wow.

              Re: Tennis anyone?

The only things that were working for her were her forehand and net play, yet she hardly ever came forward to attack. Just an absolute abortion of a match for her.

Nine breaks in the Roddick match through less than two sets? I'm not watching; that's what Match Tracker says. Huh.

It's raining again. ESPN2 is laughing at the Tennis Channel's misfortunes...almost all of their coverage got rained out. It's supposed to clear up for the ESPN2 coverage. The matches should start by the bottom of the hour.

This is going to throw off the schedule though, especially with rain forecast for Sunday.

Looks like play will resume shortly. Roddick and his opponent are heading back out.

Radwanska (women's #8 seed) is about to be knocked out in straight sets by unseeded Shedova. Jankovic (women's #4) is tied at 1 in the third set.

Roddick is broken and now it's one set all. Andy needs to settle down a little. His opponent is playing head games and trying to delay things. Roddick wants to go, go go.

He breaks to open the 3rd. 11 breaks of serve already.

Half the games have now been breaks of serve. Now 13 as Roddick is broken again. The ESPN2 coverage has switched to the Isner match. Fortunately I'm not at the whim of the ESPN dictator...I mean, director.

Here comes the rain again. They haven't stopped play yet.
Roddick had a chance for another break but Kavcic made a miracle overhead/backhand and it's now 4-3 Roddick in the 3rd.

Another rain delay - which means, if you're ESPN2, you gotta show a boring Venus Williams match from yesterday.

Tennis is back on, and Roddick wins 3rd set, 6-4.

ESPN2 has the Monfils match...Monfils just tied it 6-6 in the 5th...there is no tiebreaker in the 5th...play until someone wins by 2.

                                Finally, something dramatic to watch.

Looks like it'll be 8-8 in the 5th... sounds like a baseball score with horrid pitching.

Isner match is 6-7 / 7-6 / 6-6 (5 all in the tiebreak)... this one is going to last awhile.

Correction: Monfils was up 40-0 and then Fognini fought back to deuce... Monfils had the AD and failed to convert... and now Fognini has upset Monfils. 9-7 is the 5th set score. Huge upset.
