The cops are not arresting people because of that potential, and I don't think it's right, once the protesters start blocking highways. The protesters HAVE a price to pay, the city/state just isn't charging them. And I'm mad about that.

It's like one of our favorite movies, when Wyatt says "Let them sleep it off" and Virgil says, "They're breaking the law." Well, these protesters are breaking the law.
So then I assume you will be turning yourself in for all the laws you have broken over the years...I mean it is THE LAW! (BTW Virgil was an authoritarian windbag in that film)

I love it though Mr. "Lets Give The Cops The Benefit Of The" is now second guess them because they are keeping a protest civil, peaceful and safe. They arent antagonizing the protesters and the protesters are leaving them alone for the most part and just venting...as they should. I dunno man seems like you want your pound of flesh to me. Even bbdl doesnt have a problem with this and I am pretty sure he wanted someone to drive an SUV through the protests at the U a year or so ago...

      Seriously?

Tablet has camera, camera is used to take picture and video of kid. They are then edited, "meme" style stuff is added, and narration is added. You then leave video on tablet for all his classmates to watch. That really was beyond comprehension?

Seems to be quite a movement to make Keith Ellison DNC Chair.

Warren and Bernie like the idea...good enough for me

The thing is, none of this is shocking new information. You can't plead ignorance because it was all out there in the open. Tuesday was the litmus test.

EDIT: Sadly, the Russian diplomat thing seems like a nothingburger. Plenty of other real stuff to attack.

Technically, they probably could be cited for an "unlawful gathering" or "loitering" or something else, by the letter of the law. As I have said, and have been consistent on, when they block a HIGHWAY, ok, line is drawn, time to start arresting people. And for the very few laws I have broken and have been caught for, I have paid whatever price that was dealt to me. FTR, that would be a parking ticket, and two fixit tickets. If I had been caught speeding on the way to Houghton (and I have sped) and if I was pulled over, I'd have paid the ticket. *shrug* I broke the law, knew the consequences.

If somebody is reaching for a hot stove, I'm not going to say, "You know what, your opinions on the first law of thermodynamics are just as valid as Rudolph Clausius". I'm going to tell them it's hot, and when they say, "I'm not letting some German tell me what to do. I'd look like an idiot" and they grab it anyway, I'm going to call them a ****ing idiot.
I agree that 6M dem voters who didn't vote for Hillary are dumb but telling them that might not be the best strategy

I am guessing you have broken other laws and not been caught for them. Better turn yourself in...

Lets end it at this, I will say the cops know more about this than we do. if they dont want to arrest them it isnt our job to tell them to.

                On to other things:

She Tried To Tell Them Clinton Was In Trouble in Michigan

What she outlines is what I said early...the Dems took for granted that people understood that what they were doing and saying would help them. They never went there though to see how the people were living or how they felt.

The protesters are not turning themselves in. Arresting them now would be catching them in the act. There is a difference.

Edit: if some protester said they were part of an illegal blocking of a highway during (insert protest) 3 months ago...sorry, didn't catch you, can't bust you. Can't imagine the statute of limitations is that long for something like that.

I know it is...but since the Trump University suit is going to be settled and Jane Doe seems reluctant to go public I dont see anything taking him down.

But the cops dont agree with you...so they would have to arrest themselves since the authorities wont.

Your logic is dizzying. I'm saying the cops are in the wrong here. And fine, arrest themselves. But they won't, because of some blah blah entitlement whatever issue. And before anyone says anything, NO this is NOT a Millennial thing. There are all ages there.

                          Lizzy Gets It

“This wasn’t a pretty election. In fact, it was ugly, and we should not sugarcoat the reason why,” Warren said toward the beginning of her address. “Donald Drumpf ran a campaign that started with racial attacks and then rode the escalator down. He encouraged a toxic stew of hatred and fear. He attacked millions of Americans. And he regularly made statements that undermined core values of our democracy."

But she insisted that leaders must be more in tune with the unrest in America. “There are millions of people who did not vote for Donald Drumpf because of the bigotry and hate that fueled his campaign rallies. They voted for him despite hate. They voted for him out of frustration and anger — and also out of hope that he would bring change."
She needs to be the new model of the Democratic Party.

She does get it. Not ALL of the Trumpers like the guy or support the guy. They may, in fact, HATE the guy. But change. No more political machines. The Dems were built on the working class, and along the way, forgot about them.

I never excluded Dems that didn't vote, third parties, whatever. They all condoned it, and now they own it.

But boy did they ever teach me a lesson. I mean, Jamie Dimon. Wow. Maybe for their next trick, they can burn their own house down to really prove that they don't need to listen to no one because they're plenty smart enough on their own.
