After W, didn't everyone say...well at least the GOP will fix itself and we won't have to deal with that again?

I thought that was a given, but I guess I forgot who I was dealing with.

I have to say it: At least Palin was a mayor and a governor; she has more government experience than her would-be boss.

About $6 trillion of that is one section of the government owung another sector of the government. So, what is owed to extra governmental entities is around $13 trillion.

1% interest is $130,000,000,000. That's not chicken feed. At 3% (what old savings bonds earned), you're talking serious money.

I heard this weekend that 1/3 of the Dem caucus in Congress is from those three states.

Are we sure that the echo chamber isn't defined by I-495 as it traverses Arlington and Alexandria and Bethesda and College Park?
Washington DC voted 96/4 for Mrs. Clinton.

Michael Moore tried to warn the Dems and was ignored.
NY, MA, and CA combined make up about a sixth of the country's population. Since half of the country is Democratic, having one third of their representation from those states would fit with simple demographics.

Cows don't vote. Even given it's relative underrepresentation, California still represents more people than the entire upper Midwest combined.

And yet the supposed fiscally conservative party is the one who plans to cut taxes and raise the debt. Good call.

She and her campaign got suckered by the schoolyard bully.
No she didn't. Every time Trump opened his mouth, his campaign suffered and the polls showed it. Why? Because he behaved like a child. We know now the polls were ultimately wrong, but his manager was hired because she was a poll expert. He is an idiot, and his behavior showed it. Until the last three weeks and the FBI disclosure, EVERYBODY thought he would lose by historical amounts. Whatever you criticize Clinton for, she talked issues FAR more than Trump, who seemed to only be able to hurl grade school insults. He didn't sucker anybody. For a while in the primaries, people thought that might be happening, but his awful campaign after being nominated showed that he was not being an idiot in order to pull the wool over anyone's eyes--that's just who he is.

We don't yet know how bad (or good) a president Trump will be, I and I hope he turns out to be a good one, but don't continue to contort yourself into believing he was a rational choice.

No. Which is why the one where I have the choice to be is okay, and the one where I don't have the choice to be is not.

Why aren't we hearing both viewpoints from you about how crashing our credit rating and paying higher interest on our pile of debt is not a big deal? I'm sure there's lots of valid opinions out there about how it doesn't matter.

                        What happened last Tuesday?

                        - What always happens (more likeable wins) ... and consider that, really consider that, for a second ... < South Park "GD v. TS" reference here >

                        - People in the Rust Belt voted their pocketbooks. They were hurt under Carter (double-digit interest rates) and they haven't recovered since 2008 (per Bill Clinton speech that I previously referenced). They may be wrong, but it's what they believe. My goodness - Trump won WI, MI, OH, and PA. Has any R done that since Reagan. (Reagan won because of the Rust Belt too.)

                        - Who. Showed. Up. <-- You're all sick of me saying that, but it's true.

                        - Mrs. Clinton couldn't hold Mr. Obama's line - Look at all the "Obama won twice" counties that went for Trump! Great fricken flying Spaghetti Monster -- one of those is the Spirit Lake Reservation in ND!
Worse? The Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Reservations in SD are in that collection also! Reservations are D strongholds even moreso than urban centers. Another is Steele County, ND -- trust me, I know that one well. My relatives live there and they are staunch Ds ... but apparently they did what I couldn't stomach.

Don't overthink it; go to the fundamentals. You could tie Trump to Hitler with Mussolini references. (Too many don't know George H.W. Bush, much less ol' Benito.)
