Anyone know when the headgear was removed from the boxers?
That's new for this year. First time since 1984 actually. They actually revamped boxing, making it closer to "Pro" fights vs the convoluted scoring systems used in the last 3 Olympics. So far it's much better. No mystery to the scoring.
It's never too early to start the Pre-game festivities GoCats!!!GO BLACKHAWKS!
More than that one coulda-woulda-shoulda moment. They are still working out how to play together, it seems.
OTOH, all they needed was a draw and they were resting some people and getting Rapinoe into the flow, so an imperfect effort is understandable even if undesirable.

Noticed that too, and I found it odd. Given the notoriety around concussions and the fact that boxing is the only "legitimate" sport in which the object is to concuss your opponent, it seems strange to remove a piece of gear that should make concussions less likely, which would emphasize the non-knockout aspects of the sport.
But let's be real...There are 40 some other teams and only two alaskan teams...the day one of us wins something big will be the day I transfer to UAA

The US Women's game gave me a chuckle. I don't hate them, but I don't like them much either.
They kind of remind me of some of the crappier Men's Olympic basketball teams with Hope as Iverson
