US Women win gold in basketball. Once again, not a close game.

Geno is doing the same thing for the women internationally as he's done the past few years at UConn. Despite the men's game getting closer and closer, the women are more dominant than ever. Parity, even a semblance of it, just doesn't exist.

I don'the care for Auriemma, but he'said made some very good adjustments. Several games (including today's) were close early, but the team pulls away. Of course it helps to have the talent to execute whatever adjustment you want.

Very nice free kick by Neymar. Left upper 90 from about 30 yards. Almost tied by German header off the crossbar.

This has been like a bizarro world Olympics (except for swimming). US struggling in events they normally do well in but winning in events they normally struggle.

Plus Getmany lost in penalties. Definitely bizarro world.

5K was insane. Before the end of the race I was texting lil les saying I had the over under for challenges and d/qs. Legat goes from 6th to Bronze back to 5th? after the 2nd place American was beat up, shoved around and then d/q only to be reinstated. Nuts. Meanwhile..... MO dominant. The dude looked like he was on a training run while everyone out there was working. Last 800 split 1:50.

AND 6th! That is a very big deal! Ward finished much stronger than I thought he would, too.

Galen held tough for such a long time, and looked good until they got off the track. Started to close in the last miles for Silver, too.

Tough, tough, tough race. That humidity was brutal.

I am currently in Belgrade - this city is PUMPED for the basketball final.
Easily the 2nd biggest sport here after soccer. Their women's bball team is the only women's team in any sport to garner even the remotest of interest.

That being said, my friend that I am staying with figures he could loan 100,000 euros from shady sources to bet against Serbia, and make an easy 17,000 after paying the 1-day interest.

His wife doesn't seem to think that's a very good plan, though.

USA has mountain biking right now.

The course looks to be built on a dump or they did a slash and burn to this hill. Parts of the course are so bad bikers are running their bikes up the hill because they can't get the traction to ride.
