Maybe. First, I think that actors and Hollywood in general is quite intelligent. It takes extreme creativity to break through to successful positions in that industry.

Second, actors (etc.) are in the spotlight all the time. They are asked their opinions on a daily basis. I'm not sure they should not give their opinion just because someone else doesn't want them to. Last, say as a public figure like that...you have opinions on say Trump (as it sounds like you personally do). Would you not use your position to make the world a better place?

I just don't have a problem with anyone giving their opinion or working to influence the direction of the country...I'm not a big fan of using outrage to stoke a emotional backlashes without fact basis.

In today's age of Youtube and everyone having a video camera, they aren't as jealous as you might think. In fact, it's pretty much exactly what was needed to dilute the monopoly that Hollywood once had. Sure, the owners of the sites are now trying to either censor or not allow advertising through draconian means, but that speaks volumes as to what the people really want in their entertainment.

No. Nepotism, looks, luck. In that order. Actors are like athletes: their fame selection has nothing to do with intelligence so they follow the normal distribution, meaning they're grouped tightly around the mean of the people you went to high school with, meaning they're idiots.

Despite Republican assurances that North Carolina's "bathroom bill" isn't hurting the economy, the law limiting LGBT protections will cost the state more than $3.76 billion in lost business over a dozen years, according to an Associated Press analysis.

The woman in charge of the Wendy's Twitter account has become a minor celebrity in some circles. I've even come across the occasional quasi-news story about her.

                  That's amazing.

I remember reading a story about that woman. She is one of the best in the industry.

The guy who wrote that article probably didn't get into any of those elite schools , or was even worthy of applying to them. He ended his final sentence using a preposition.
