My contention is that Mr. Met got her an inexpensive ring when they were first starting out and struggling. Now that he has money he sprang for the more expensive ring.

There are scurrilous suggestions from other sources that it's Mr. Met who has cashed in, and long suffering Mrs. Met, Boy Met, Girl Met, and Baby Met have been fobbed off for a hot new trophy wife. This accords with the fact that a couple off seasons ago Mrs. Met suddenly got a lot hotter, and apparently a lot younger, and that she doesn't much resemble the s-x kittenish Lady Met who started it all.

My favorite line is "at least somebody got a ring out of last year."
I guess the guest appearances on Kiners Korner didn't pay a lot?

Estadio Latinoamericano has been filled now for the last two hours, for a game that doesn't start for another forty five minutes.

I agree with this entirely. I don't understand any of the indignation -- the workplace is not an appropriate place for your kid. Whether it's a business or a locker room, people should be able to be adults without having to mind themselves because a kid is present. If I want to talk about drinking or misbehaving or my love life, I don't want to feel like I have to hold back.

Also, I have to say, I'm pretty excited for this season. It looks like Byung Ho Park might be pretty good...a lineup with him, Sano, Dozier, Rosario, Plouffe....that has a chance to be pretty potent. Hope the pitchers hold up their end.

It was GM Kenny Williams that made the call about the kid... Seems like some players may not have wanted it as well, but aren't saying publicly...

30 games for Chapman. He will not appeal.

Oddly enough, Outside The Lines today was about the lack of Hispanic managers.
