So the Mets will have lead in every game of the World Series to this point as Granderson leads off with a HR.

The Royals have them right where they want them.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

                **** fat fingers.

Almost seemed like the Mets gave up when KC scored that go ahead run.

They led in the 8th in four of the five games.

Some teams go all year without giving up a lead from the eighth on.

That really is an ugly trophy.

They should have stuck with the trophy from the teens.

It's New York. If you have it on the field, a) it will be in front of a completely vacant and eerie stadium that looks like it's waiting for Snake Plissken to drop in, or b) you'll be holding it in front of a bunch of bitter Mets fans who just watched their team cough up another lead to blow this Series, and as a consequence you'll just be bleeping out a bunch of F-bombs.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Rec'd for Escape from New York reference. However as a bitter Mets fan with a longshoreman's vocabulary I would have politely applauded the trophy ceremony. It's what you do -- it helps to ennoble the event. I believe most fans would do the same, whether in KC or NYC, because after all all fans bases are exactly the same.

Except the Braves'. F-ck those guys.
