  • My MDX seems to have pretty well-engineered lights. When I pull up on the garage it has a sharp line that defines the top of the lights that only a Ferrari would fit under. I've driven behind my wife in her focus and she says she doesn't get blinded by them. So I'd like to think they do a good job without blinding people. I also think it is partially due to it being multiple LEDs instead of one bulb, as someone mentioned above.

I was driving in front of a Toyota SUV of some sort tonight and I had to adjust the angle on my side view mirrors because it was so bad. It literally cast a shadow of my car on barriers. That **** was terrible.

Agreed. You can always tell. They're either loose, asymmetrically oriented, or clearly the wrong color (blue is almost always aftermarket; you want like 5000K, not 6000K, or god forbid higher than that)

            • Toyota is really hedging their bets that lithium ion batteries may not be the future, and I like that. While the mass use of lithium ion is muchbetter than an ICE in every way, it's still not great. Solid state and lithium iron phosphate seem really interesting and, potentially, a fairly easy swap from lithium ion. And while both are a ways behind the lithium ion, they have very good potential.

Toyota is also working on non-battery sources like ammonia, of which I am highly skeptical but intrigued, and some other even further-away possibilities.
I gotta little bit of smoke and a whole lotta wine...

By ice, I assume you mean specifically gas and diesel ice, as there are still some potential alternative fuels out there that are carbon neutral. Right now, I don’t see a clear leader for the universal replacement of gasoline and diesel, yet. Lot of ideas and potentials, but nothing that stands out as best.

yes, that's what i meant, I was unclear.

And I agree. Lithium ion-based BEV is, to me, a very good temporary step but I don't see lithium ion as the long term fix. Or if we'll even have one fuel source. Perhaps we shouldn't?

I should've opted for the higher level trim package.

                      • Anyone have recommendations on a dash cam? Not that i want to spend money while unemployed but with rising insurance rates, theft, and general azzhattery on the roads, it’s tempting.

i don’t want to be monitored by insurance, i want something that covers rear and front. Have also heard it needs to be gps version or insurance wint even look at a video if soomething had happened.

Also- not looking to spend hundreds on installation which is my biggest question mark
